It's good to know we are all groan people here :-)

Steve: Ah, "dog-whistle" -- another lame-arse cliché I'd deconstruct if I thought you'd actually bother listening.
And there I was thinking you were trying to play Mr Nice Guy.
Well Craig, which lame-arsed cliché would you prefer I used to depict the actions of John Key and his sycophantic followers, Headline Grabbing populiism? -
From Scotty's link,
The New Zealand beer brewery, DB, took exception to an open letter on the site which says the national brew is lacking in hops.
"They can't be serious," a DB spokeswoman said.
"We've got some of the best beer in the world."
But neglects to mention that those beers are not made by DB with the continuous fermentation process which brews up a constant flow of raw "beer" and then has the flavour added at the bottling stage. We do have some good beers in this country, they're just not made by DB, or New Zealand Breweries. And as to the local versions of Heineken and Stella Atois, don't get me started. </ beer rant>

And then there is tadaaaa ORGANIC
Yes folks, 4-Phenyl-4-(1-piperidinyl)-cyclohexanol, also known as PPC, is an organic chemical which is often found as a metabolite of phencyclidine (PCP). It has been shown to cause increases in Locomotor activity in lab mice.
or
benzoylmethyl ecgonine, is a crystalline tropane alkaloid that is obtained from the leaves of the coca plant.[5] The name comes from "coca" in addition to the alkaloid suffix -ine, forming cocaine.
or
Methyl isocyanate (MIC) is an organic compound It is extremely toxic. The threshold limit value set by the American Conference on Government Industrial Hygienist was 0.02 ppm which is an extremely low concentration. MIC can damage by inhalation, ingestion and contact in quantities as low as 0.4 ppm.
So good for you eh? -
I generally don't consider a string of "John Key's a cunt" and/or "Americans are stupid poopy heads" comments to be a discussion of tremendous import that adds greatly to human wisdom.
Then how about "John Key is a Cnut"?
Single handedly turning back the tide of....[insert dog whistle of the day here]According to Legend, he ordered the waves to stop but he was actually proving to his sycophantic courtiers that even kings could not control nature.
A lesson John may learn in time.

Hmmm! Advertising--that great mix of pseudo science and 'orrible hucksterism. One question I have always wanted to ask an adman: when TVCs make the claim '30% larger' or "13 % percent longer" or 'new and improved"--effing larger or longer or newer than what???
The one that gets me is "Fresh" , everything should be fresh when it's packed. Perhaps someone will come up with a label where the word "Fresh" dissapears after a day or two.
Ooh, I just did. Dibs on that invention. :-) -
I remember the Sultan Ahmet in Istanbul vividly.
The sign outside proclaimed "Western Style Lavatory" so, having had a gutsfull of Asian style "Lavatories" I figured this would be spattering of luxury. On entering the bathroom I discovered the aforementioned device, it was full to the brim with, well, what do you think? I went back to the reception desk and informed the rather grubby reception bloke of the situation,
"I will fix for you now sir" he rang a small hand-bell and a young Turk scuttled into view. A few words were exchanged and the young chap scurried off to my room. He emerged carrying the toilet bowl, dashed out to the back yard and tipped the contents into a corner. After a quick hose down he returned the bowl to my room. I said nothing and wandered dazed and confused out into the bustling streets of Constantinople -
The Stradivarius Hotel.
Now there was a vile inn

And Australians are prepared to put up with that?
