Of course. If you leave thousands of dollars worth of rail track lying around Bits will go Missing
-
Oh well, keep me guessing then.
I did a google search on the Faumuina Gold Theatre and found myself back here. There was one other link and that was Auckland Trains an interesting site, unless of course you want to fid out where the Faumuina Gold Theatre is.
On a related note. I had to find out how to get to Rotorua without driving yesterday so I went online and did a search of trains buses ships and planes etc. My gob was well and truly smacked by the lack of information. It seems that you can't just jump on a bus, you have to book and then hang around outside Sky City. There are no trains.
I was informed by the loverly Barbara at, well I'm not quite sure Tranzscenic I think but she answered the phone saying NZ Rail.
Barbara informed me that all the railway lines had been pulled up in the Nineties. I informed her that the Geyserland Express ran on the Rotorua Branch Line until 7 October 2001. She was surprised. The line still exist and was "Mothballed" in 2001, apparently the term "Mothballed" means "Totally Abandoned" in Railway speak. There aer plans to reinstate this 50km single track line at a cost of $8.3 million dollars.
To which I hear you all say $8.3 million? WTF?Reopening
Currently, the line is mothballed, albeit very overgrown in places. The Rotorua Railway Enthusiasts Group is working to restore part of the line. On 13 January 2009, the Geyserland Express Trust announced that it had commissioned and received a report on the feasibility of reopening the line between Putaruru and Rotorua, which put the cost of doing so at $8,300,000. Work required would include:
Clearing vegetation
Replacing missing sections of track
Rehabilitation of some of the bridges
Checking drains and culverts
Establishing a new station at Rotorua -
the Faumuina Gold Theatre, Building 180 (Main Student Building containing ‘The HUB’/quad), entrance GATE 4, use 2nd public carpark, building is 100m from there or so.
And that is where exactly?

One thing is that I find distasteful is the vast majority of their staff are causal’s, even the ones doing 30-40hr weeks for months or even years.
[citation needed]
Another thing I dislike is that their big margins or mark-ups on items are on what should be the basis of a healthy diet. Fruit and veg, the bakery, the butchery and dairy products are all heavily marked up
I can totally disprove that by saying...
I would not be surprised if supermarkets pricing is specifically predatory towards small green-grocers, butchers and bottle shops but generally these small owner operator type business’s go to the wall when the supermarkets set up in their area. This in turn is bad news for small market gardeners, growers and other small scale suppliers.
See?
meaning the supervisor has to be called to wave there thing over the bare code reader.
And if anybody else does that in a supermarket they would be severely reprimanded.
I've been to my bearings, belts, chains and sprockets shop today.
Ah., a cyclist. Did you know the German for cyclist was "Radler"? kinde weird that DB can "Turdemark" that word
The owner was in a lather about DB suing Green Man over the use of the word "Radler", which they inexplicably have the trademark for in NZ.

Re the daily Show.
There may be some doubt about who is responsible for the blackout.Let's assume the reasons you gave are right (it's seems kind of odd that content licensees all over the world requested that you shut down access in their respective countries at the same time, but anyway)...
As I was reading the comments I was surprised by the number of countries complaining at the same time.

Steve, I think you're mistaking the Herald for a source of information.
Yes. Silly me.

$1995? who was the adviser on this? Stephen Tindal?.
What's wrong with that, it seems fairly reasonable if they are doing some diligence as to whether the advisers a crook or not?
My point was about the price point. Why not just call it $2000? I mean its a bit $9.95 instead of $10. Very Warehouse.
But. What got me most was the actual definition of what now constitutes an offence. It would seem that giving the phone number of the Immigration dept. to a friend to help his Auntie come over from China could cost you $99,999.95 and 7 years of your life. -
Well I have to say my flabber has never been more gasted.
Migrants suffer big losses as law changes This arrticle got right up my goat. The Immigration Advisers Licensing Act requires mandatory licensing of all immigration consultants, Many are part-timers who have been put off by the $1995 cost of a licence.
$1995? who was the advisor on this? Stephen Tindal?
It goes on to say.The authority defines immigration advice as "using, or purporting to use, knowledge of or experience in immigration to advise, direct, assist or represent another person in regard to an immigration matter relating to New Zealand, whether directly or indirectly and whether or not for gain or reward".
Like I said flabber bloody gasted. I'm lost for words, its just like, you know, fuck???? what???

Anyhoo. If we are going to have a cyclepath may I be as bold as to suggest we get Mr. Eshcer to design it.
It could be downhill all the way. -
Hmmm, here's an interesting site
It seems to indicate that pedaling at around 2 strokes per second produces the optimal power/torque ratio. That seems quite fast pedaling to me. But if you just look at the torque graph (which is more applicable in terms of climbing hills, I think) then the pedaling speed is less important and actually drops off at that rate.
