Stephen, quite so. Once more with feeling:
You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately… Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!

Succinct and damning excoriation of Benson-Pope by Audrey Young here.
For all the good you are doing etc, go.

Your partner who works in a job with a potential conflict of interest might or might not disregard their obligations and share a confidence. So might the friend you drink with on Friday nights. So might your acquaintance from a cycling club.
I think “who does this person know?” is not nearly as good a test as: “does this person look as though they will respect their obligation not to disclose information?”

I think National learnt from the last election that if they come out with a policy/election promise too soon then Labour will gazzump it.
It's their right to play it tactically, but it's my right to feel treated with disregard. The tactic they've chosen is probably safer, but you can also demonstrate yourself to be fresher and more capable by generating a continuing stream of superior policy proposals, if you have them, and making plenty of noise each time the incumbents adopt or adapt your idea.
Meanwhile, on pop-cultural matters: Joanne, of course I do.

We (indirectly) import from a firm in taiwan, and they are now trading in euros.
I run my website in US dollars. It might be time to change that to Euro for traffic outside the US.

On another note, this post is almost custom designed for TL;DR posts
That's why you don't get the lesbians and the gym offer until tomorrow :)
I'll lay you a lazy ten bucks that Idiot Savant, Peter Cresswell and Alistair Thompson have already read it through to the end, though.

Jackie, I'm acknowledging the unreliable assumptions people can make, and confessing to be as guilty as the next person of making them.
I'd never impugn your judgement - I was just listening to a Lemon Jelly track on the iPod the other day and thinking kindly of the helpful person who recommended it to me.

ps. what's in the vid? Some work places frown upon video watching (but not forum commenting).
Sorry. Overlooked that. Possibly NSFW for repeated use of the word "motherfuckin". Also some visual attention to booty. Having said that, its intention is noble. Can't guarantee your employer will see it that way, though.
The Language Log has a bit to say on Dan Brown here -
There was tension over this issue right from the start. On the one hand, you were creating checks and balances so that none of the three branches of government – legislative, executive, judicial, could abuse their power. So you gave the executive branch- through the President – the power to check abuse by the judiciary.
But as I/S noted early in this thread, the monarchs they'd left behind had a bad reputation for abusing this kind of power, and the founding fathers were divided over the advisability of replicating that.
It’s good in principle, but its abuse for political expediency is as lamentable as it is predictable.
