  • Hard News: Asking for a Contribution,

it's a measure of how valuable i think public address is that i went to find my wallet without even a second thought. in fact i consider it a revolutionary act (kind of) to support public address in any way, given the generally piss poor state of the media in this country.

thanks for public address russell and colleagues. it's awesome.

  • Cracker: Dig This!,

i must say i like the idea of gardening more than the reality of it, but i do like having a few summer veges in pots out on the patio too ...

check out oooby.ning.com (oooby stands for out of our own backyards) ... it's got loads of special interest groups (think seed collecting, think compost, think keeping chooks etc etc etc and a lot going on. it was started by a kiwi guy but it has gone somewhat international. i don't visit that much myself (because i only have my few pots of summer veges) but if you want to do more than me, there's a lot of advice and info there.

  • Hard News: A solution in search of…,

my main comment is the whole thing gives me a headache and i can't wait until it's over, really. when this kind of event comes along, it seems that people start to treat it as the end date of life, the universe and everything.

sorry not to add anything constructive ...

  • Field Theory: Skate Highway One,

If you were watching rugby for the first time you'd think that it was a strange game where the players just flop over the ball until someone passes it or the ref blows his whistle.

ha ha, my little boy (now 3) used to call rugby "man falled over" and later, "man having cuddle".

i've heard more and more - mayhap i should check out this roller derby thing?
