What's superior to a Super Snipe? The preposterous Humber Pullman.
King George Tupou V rides the tapa highway in his late grandmother's Christchurch-restored royal limo.

. . . a lovestory to a Humber Super Snipe (what really got up my nose apropos Harvey's review was that she called it 'violent' - geeeez!!)
Super Snipe - powered by a Commer truck engine, and with the mass to match. Many Snipes met their end in demolition derbies, where their bulk gave them a distinct advantage. Perhaps Harvey should be cut a little slack for making a subliminal association between the Super Snipe and those bygone bogan-pleasing highlights of stock car seasons past.

How long can your nose bleed before you should start getting worried?
Trust that it's either stopped all by itself by now, or that you've sought help.
Whatever, that line sounds scarily like highly quotable famous last words.

Thanks for your interest Kerry. I'm presently in mid-suburban Chch, outside of the range of the pretend trams etc, which only tourists can afford to ride.

(Piece of useless information.)
But very cool, thanks for that. As it happens, I was admiring a pair of recently crafted homegrown akeake clothes props at a backyard new year's eve gathering. "We don't need no Mitre 10", said their proud maker. I'm sure he'll be pleased to know that they'll come in handy for poking things after a natural disaster.

Leopard - it's the shakiest Mac OS I've encountered (and I've been using them for nearly a decade.
So some others say, & I don't doubt them. Still, 10.5.6 is OK here, but I had a bumpy few initial hours ironing the bugs. If we must geek a little to keep ourselves from being at the mercy of the likes of Totally Mac et al, then geek we shall. Good on you.
Still, what can you expect from a former personal computer company that's now mostly about portable music players and (cough) telephones ?
Eventually, everybody ends up hating the phone company.Happy new year to you all.

Islander, you may well know about this little fix from Apple for Mail released on Dec. 22, but just in case.
-
Islander - sorry to hear that you bought from Totally Slack, but too late now and happy new year.
Re. mail - if you have a new Mac you'll have Leopard.
Here's Apple's relevant start page for self-help: -
On the other hand, sad little towns like Woodville show that wealth has eluded some parts of New Zealand.
Just been talking on the phone to someone who moved there a few months back. They couldn't be happier.

I guess a nation that has survived two atomic bombings, a series of rupturing bubble economies, not to mention Godzilla, Mothra, Gamera and a host of others, tends to take the long-term view.
