  • Hard News: How much speech does it take?, in reply to Che Tibby,

what about the uncle with a dental nurse girlfriend. she gave him a necklace of human teeth.

My Dad made me a necklace out of sterling silver with titanium brain staples. Something for me to remember seeing as I had no memory of any of my plight.
And my Dad is the sane one in the family so eccentricity is Pa (sic) for the course really.:)

And the White paper is ideal when you want to look like you are doing something when you want the topic to go away until after the election. With responses like " we think we will have to take the ideas to the people because these are things that will have an effect on the middle class" Spoken like a Minister for Social Development.

  • Hard News: How much speech does it take?, in reply to Marcus Turner,

Can someone who knows about the workings of NZ politics and bureaucracy please tell me what a “white paper” and a “green paper” are? Are there any other colours? These terms seem to be used on RNZ News as though everyone already understands their significance.

    Here's an idea Marcus

  • Muse: WHORISH SELF-PROMOTION VS.…, in reply to Jackie Clark,

Ian probably thought I was following him, (actually he would'nt have noticed me) . I parked behind him then followed him into the shop, all unintentional, mind. Also when I saw Ruby, thought, 'oh good, Stella has a fellow mutley to communicate with'.
Didn't do the chit chat cos I didn't have the half hour that requires. Please forward my apologies. :)

  • Muse: WHORISH SELF-PROMOTION VS.…, in reply to Jackie Clark,

That would be fantastic. Seriously. Actually, now I come to think of it, I’ll see if I can’t bring a bootload to the Great Blend next week. We could stand in the carpark and look illicit.

I think, for every bootload you may remove, another may appear. I am sure I glimpsed Ian in the second hand book department of the Sally Army shop yesterday. And yes I frequent those second hand shops as well. :)
    What does HACKIS mean?
    Was that Ruby pup?

    pointless rumination

    None taken.

    ;)

    I reckon,
Drugs, without the strict consistency of prescription legal ones, (but I guess that's debatable too) can be good for you one day, bad, the next.Quantity and or tolerance isn't necessarily the issue. Partaking is always a risk(buzz ?) because whenever you indulge, one should absolutely be prepared for that. To overdose can also be the least painful thing you will ever do. Close your eyes, feel the buzz, and..... wake up to the sound of the paramedics. Lesson for that is, share with your friends, then you wont be alone if you need a paramedic, because they can save you.
That's why I now like marijuana the best, it's the least of a risk. And just as good.
    Jus' sayin'

  • Hard News: The scandal that keeps on giving, in reply to Craig Ranapia,

She had so much more to do than being a tabloid staple.

Thing is, like many a rock star gone before her and yet to go, if you don't want to change the habit, it will probably be your demise in the end, and as said above "matter of when, not if."
Glad we got to hear her beautiful voice. We will always have that now.
The cleaning up in public could have been her win. Most in Serbia would have heard about her exploits and still paid to see her so the public arena could have been the best place to do it. There, she would have received much support, to be sure. The dealers who wanted her dosh might have been the hard part.
