There is an easy solution available to her - defect to the National Party (temporarily, of course). Problem will be fixed within days, if not hours, I'm sure.

Hard News: Word of the Year 2011 -- The Vote!, in reply to
It's word of the year - not new word of the year. Otherwise it'd be a bit like awarding NZer of the year to a baby born in 2011...

Muse: Indecision '11: Outrageous!, in reply to
I was thinking the same:
Free-range against the machine: pork for you, I'll stew with oxtail meat. -
9- Reducing consumption of imports, and saving, producing and exporting more.
One man's export is another man's import, so I guess this is all fine if you don't particularly care what happens to or in the rest of the world.

Wow. Web pages and browers looked like *that* only 10 years ago?
Anyone got any idea what the window/program (certainly not an "app") in the top-right of the screenshot is?

H&C's last official gig before breaking up was in Hagley Park, Christchurch, as part of the City Council's Summertimes program. It must have been about 1996 or 97 I think. My flatmate at the time did a interview for TV with them and asked me to write some of the questions for him:
"A question for Mark... You're an international rockstar, one of the biggest bands of your time with a string of top-10 hits and millions of record sales. You tour the world playing some of the biggest stages. How does it feel to be the brother of that person?"

7 months later and on my fifth sample, I'm still "live". Don't know where the buggers are hiding, or why, but they've outlived their average life span. I'm beginning to wonder if I can ask the doctor for my $2000 ($650 for the anaethetist, $600 for the surgeon, $800 for the hospital, and now what seems to be an eternal string of pathology fees) back, for not providing the service I paid for.

...can I just say Thank F***k the weather finally changed...
Capital F, indicating a proper noun, three asterixes = five letters in total. Who is Frank, and what control over the weather does he hold?

As an Ch-Ch boy, I've finally taken it upon myself to learn some very basic html skills and build a website - a musical medley to provide my Ch-Ch friends with a distraction from the events of the last week.
I hope they don't take it the wrong way...
