Sweet, short and flakey #pastory?

The story continues?
'Meanwhile, back on the riverbank, someone or something was watching the faux Janet redhead and the kindly ref share their meagre offering of fish with the gentle piscatarian.A witch reclined on a branch of an unseasonably blossoming cherry tree, sucking chocolate. Curled up her lap was a mutant kitten, exhausted from a night stalking zombie rugby players.
This was a post modern witch; whoever gazed at her had their own wiccan prejudices reinforced. Some saw the crone who scared and ate small children, others the stepmother of nightmares, the Shakespearean cassandras, the Salem victims, even Bellatrix or Hermione.
As a third wave feminist, she happily accepted and claimed all labels.
The tired manatee looked up and saw a golden-haired Samantha. “What a pert nose, you have,” she squeaked. (The manatee knew it was entering into the dangerous territory of body dysmorphia, but she sometimes regretted the close genetic relationship sirenians had with elephants, which resulted in a prominent proboscis). “Please can you twiddle your nose and send me home”.
“Ok” said the witch, “but first you must try some of my latest batch of chocolate, it’s eye of newt and hazelnut”.

Hard News: Angry and thrilled about Arie, in reply to
To be fair to Grant, he has taken a long time interest in this situation, as he has in autism-related injustices generally, so just because he has not made public statements in the last few days, does not mean he is not strategising ibehind the scenes.

OK, this one can be a piscatarian. Could probably do with the omega-3.

(This could turn into a feminist tract examining society's dichotomous expectations for women to be either manatee or witch.)

Islander, the manatee is not an 'it', but a 'she'. A matriarchal, matrilineal, sensuous, velvet skinned, comely, sea lettuce-loving, and endangered - vegetarian.

(I really must get back to health inequalities and chronic conditions but here is a bit more.)
She looked around and saw crooked and broken houses as if some angry taniwha had just swept through. She craved some tasty sea grass. But all the creek bottom yielded was city detritus. She looked down at the river bank and was shocked to see...

She had battled the tides and the strong westerly winds in her struggle to stay in the warm north Queensland waters, but to no avail. Exhausted, she let the current take her where it would and here she was now in a little muddy little creek where the banks were lower than the level of the water. And it was so cold. Where could she be?
