  • OnPoint: Rational, then,

Sustainable as long as we reseed the ground with gold every few years so that more gold can grow? Um, yeah...

  • Up Front: This is a Photograph of Me,

We had no car for much of the time we lived in Auckland, and I never bothered to get my license until I was pregnant with my son 4 years ago - we lived one stage from town on the bus, and either walked or got taxis home from supermarkets/big ticket item shops. It was only really when we moved to Dunedin and encountered so many damn hills everywhere that walking everywhere became a lot less attractive. As it is, I think I drive the car too much because it's too convenient and my general fitness is definitely the worse for it.

Haven't read the Listener for a number of years now although I snicker over the headlines every so often. We get the TV Guide, and where once the letters to Mr Telly were a source of constant amusement/headdesking, they're actually becoming more literate and interesting as of late - is it maybe the Listener's diaspora?

  • Hard News: Beautiful Images,

I would have been willing to give "7 Days" a go except for the fact that both Dai Henwood and Jeremy Corbett make me break out in hives...

  • Hard News: New Zealand Weekend Television,

Although I'd interested to know what supermarket pies you think are superior.

Foodtown pies used to be just as good, because they were the same pie <strike>David</strike>, at least for a few years there. Something about the sweetness of the pastry and the gooeyness of the cheese used to get me every time.

  • Hard News: New Zealand Weekend Television,

Personally I think TV3 can go stick their "Big Night In", now that they've pulled series two of "Dexter" (one of the few things I can be bothered watching on their channel) after two episodes. They've cited poor ratings as the catalyst, but more suspicious minds have suggested that it's due to criticism of their "Puts the Fun in Funeral/Laughter in Slaughter" promos that ran during the Weatherston trial...

I know I can download the series or borrow it from the DVD store, but not everyone can, so it pisses me off when the channels do this - bad enough when it's halfway through the series, but two episodes in? Just because it's not meeting their expectations? I'll be interested to see what they replace it with, what they think will get more viewers...

Glad you got a diagnosis, Emma, and here's hoping that Adric sits the fuck down and shuts up for the foreseeable (hah) future!
