Hard News: Asking for a Contribution, in reply to
It could even be used for readers to give a little to other readers who write particularly useful and spiffing comments -- I quite like that idea.
They were hoping to get flattr-a-twitter-handle working for the first of May, apparently, but it's been delayed. When that's working I think I'll be upping my spend and spreading the love.

Just a thought, but I'd add PA to the things I flattr.

Legal Beagle: Adventures in the OIA or:…, in reply to
Been meaning to says thanks for your efforts on the OIA site Rowan. I'd dreamed of doing somethings similar years back , inspired back then by Alasdair Roberts and the Canadian CAIRS site, but never followed through with it.
Absolutely my pleasure.
If MySociety and WhatDoTheyKnow.com hadn't blazed the trail, there's no way fyi.org.nz would have gotten as far as it has.
Apparently, though, they got a google grant to advertise for them for FOI type keywords, which drove a lot of early adoption. Sadly no such arrangement is available for New Zealand. Mind you, it's third for "make oia request" so that's not terrible.

Bugger. Thanks for the fix on the URL.

As a bit of shameless self-promotion, can I point anyone thinking of doing an OIA request at fyi.org.nz? It tries to help along people writing public OIA requests.
Also, any thoughts on improving the site would be gratefully accepted. Cheers!

Hard News: Do you like what we've done…, in reply to

I wrote a slight improve to the "in reply to" functionality, which doesn't reload the page when what it's linking to is on the same page: http://gist.github.com/674800
In a related vein, could the number of comments on a page either be configurable or bumped again to perhaps 50? Generally I dial it up to ~100 when such options are available to help searching within a page.
