I found the lab a huge aid when dealing with young twins -- more for the floor than the plates and faces before you call CYPFs.

So they are labradors with a high IQ? Meh. I had thought we could have a beagle next time instead of the serial black labs to get away from food-focused dogs. Perhaps beloved is right: he mourns his huntaway and wants another.

Looking forward to this meet-up with you both. Hey, I'm not complaining. Normal busy is something to appreciate rather than survival busy. Our supermarket now has three walls up, and there are NO major roadworks at the end of our street, therefore every trip out by car is that much simpler and faster and no dust storm in the wind. By such events is progress measured. It may be worth washing the car for the first time this year.

David is indeed a pro; not often one sees him in the frame. Here's his link http://davidalexanderphoto.com/Home.html
Good luck with the repairs Gudrun. We have hit the pause button on ours until spring/summer -- the family are in a big catch-up this year with life, jobs, hobbies, studies, socialising, everything. Feels like too much else has been on hold for us to be bothered about our slightly chaotic and wee bit hammered house. EQR are going for it in this area on TC2 land for the 10 to 100k damage band; crews of tradies are everywhere. But the poor people who are rebuilds or major repairs seem to be waiting forever.

Going back and forth to the dog thread, then the cat thread in the last week I have decided that in my heart of hearts I am a cat person. I like a good dog around, it’s like gravity or the Port Hills : always there. Whereas cats are endlessly fascinating; puddy-vision is better than any other channel. They make elegant pictures too.

Billy the grey cat had many years of drug wars with the neighbourhood cats in our old catnip-infested garden. Maybe it is why he doesn't think too well nowadays -- we inadvertently cut off his supply by moving house. Must plant some seeds here for his entertainment.

Ah, I didn’t know that. I have an intense memory “photograph” of a brilliant double rainbow suddenly appearing against a stunning sky as I drove over the hill into Rapaki heading to Lyttelton in the mid 1990s. The rainbow was picture perfect and reached exactly from side to side of the harbour. Then good stuff happened (skeptics may laugh now).
