Shouldn't they be in a velodrome?

3 News (but oh how angry it makes me!)
Hell, yes! I can barely believe it that was only two or three years ago that I was defending them, on these very pages, as endearingly sloppy to One News' outright corrupt.
At that time their ratings (in key demo's, at least) were roaring ahead of the competition. I confess to not having checked lately, but I expect the ratings differential has crashed heavily back into the negative for 3 News. If so, the reason is this: While One News is talking about Supercity machinations, you're talking about a nudist up a tree or a cat that plays tennis on Trademe, proceeded, of course, by Today's Favourite Murder*.
It's like going out to a restaurant and being served pan-fried kitten followed by a dessert of hundreds and thousands.
*Yeah, I know One does that too, but you can't win 'em all.

PVRs
So, what do these units cost?

"The sun rotates around the earth" was once a "vastly more likely and widely supported... explanation."

I disbelive your denial unless you can produce evidence.
What I meant was that to dismiss without weighing evidence is no better than to accept without weighing evidence.

It is. The question - or one of 'em - is how to deal with the unproven conspiracy theory. All such exposed conspiracies, I'd wager, went through a period of being unproven theory which needed something other than universal rejection in order to move forward. It is, as you say, a matter of balance.
A study of how actual and proven conspiracies were exposed might be interesting.

if you just need the suggestion of malevolent plotting going on in secret to then make the move to assert that whatever is happening, it's due to a Conspiracy, then the world will look quite different to those who might cite Hanlon's Razor instead.
The thing is, there's malevolent plotting going on in every office . I find it really hard to believe that it doesn't happen on a much larger scale too.

Actually, that doesn't surprise me.

Stephen,
Yeah, I pretty much agree. It's just a bit sad that any conspiracy theory automatically gets a bad rap because of his crazy brothers.I wonder if anyone's ever suggested that all the really out-there conspiracy theories are part of huge plot by the international banking cartel to discredit, by association, the accurate conspiracy theories. ;)

I'm a bit bemused by the vogue for rejecting, en masse, "conspiracy theories" as fringe lunacy. To disbelieve without evidence is no better than to believe without evidence.

There's an occasional problem with audio distortion which I'm told only cropped up after it was compressed by Vimeo.
Umm... I doubt it. The audio for that is basically entirely unmastered. Nevertheless, props to them for the first ep, and best of luck for future episodes.
