Nice work Lilith. ;-)
You should have seen the ones I didn't get! I was taking 15sec exposures but they take that time again for the camera to process. And I took a lot of shots of no lightning. :-)

in particular, when your whole body is this awesome weapon, it’s really easy to forget your embarrassment of it.
The concept that bodies can be for doing stuff and not just for being looked at? Awesome.

Wow leigh, what a good idea! I tend to just use leaves picked from the plant in cheese sandwiches or under tuna on toast, never thought of them as a vegetable, I imagine they would be amazing instead of silverbeet in a shepherd’s pie!
My favourite thing with rocket is cheese and beetroot sandwiches. But Leigh has converted me somewhat to using it as a cooked green - then it doesn't matter if it's not a tender young shoot.
PS love your worm's eye view of the broccoli :-)

Coming from Auckland, Christchurch is such a breeze to get around by bike
Chch has obvious natural advantages as a city for cycles: the mostly flat terrain and our broad streets. Which makes it a no-brainer for proper cycle lanes and facilities! But like just about everything good that's happened post-quake, the free loan bikes are being promoted by a local enthusiast. I hope the idea gets taken up by our supposed leaders.

Goodness, you made me choke on my milo!
We had two different heterosexual men lined up, but they both genuinely had to, erm, withdraw.
You haven't even got two heterosexuals to rub together?

a wetland with a great central mudflat. Around mid-2011 it was a honking paradise for strutting waterfowl as they staked out their territories.
Perhaps more like it used to be?
Victoria Lake was formed in North Hagley Park in 1897 to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria's reign. It had been a swamp of over 1 acre in area, and was extended to over 4 acres, destroying numbers of native plants since lost to Christchurch.

Lake Victoria
Oh very good to see!
Even if a friend of mine refers to it as Victoria Puddle . As lakes go, it's a tiddler. ;-)
