Re. the culinary qualities of weka, I have heard much the same.. and I rather fancy some! And since they're not endangered (are they? how did they end up in that Close Up story?) I can't think of a good reason not to.

John Campbell [...] has proven he is the best interviewer [in?] the country.
I guess being the first (and to the best of my knowledge only) media figure to get on Helen Clarke's shitlist has got to count for something. Seriously.
Auckland University POL328 'Political Content of Television' circa 2002:
An essay (1500-1800 words) based largely on secondary sources, is due at 5 pm on Friday, August 23. Respond to one of the following questions:
1. John Campbell justified the ambush tactics of his Corngate interview with Helen Clark on TV3 on July 10, 2002, on the grounds that “the public’s right to see unvarnished, unspun, unchoreographed responses outweighs [other ethical considerations].” Helen Clark regarded the interview as a clear case of “unethical journalism.” Which point-of-view do you favour and why?

Can I score some stephen "four leaf" clover? I heard the right flyspray takes you to the moon.
Bro, just walk around until you find a tinny house (clearly indicated by a pair of shoes tied together by the laces and slung over the powerlines, right?).
Truthfully, though... I'd give it a miss...

The Herald Sun also reports he has been charged with child pornography offences after police ’seized footage of allegedly illegal sex acts’.
I was going to say that I couldn't find anything which lends weight to this being anything more than muck-raking by the Herald Sun, that prince among muck-rakers.. but they now report that there has been two charges of possessing child pornography added to the list of charges I mentioned above.
Roll on March 19, I guess.

From the linked to interview with Freeman, Damon:
Mandela rallies South Africa’s underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup Championship match.
My memory may be faulty, but were they REALLY that much of an underdog? I can't find the pre-tournament bookie odds for SA to win (surely as good an indicator as any.) From what I can recall, they'd re-entered the rugby scene, and acquitted themselves rather well in the years leading up to the 1995 tournament. So perhaps not favourites to win, but not exactly Romania, or Portugal, or Canada-style "underdogs" either.
But would Invictus be so much of a story if they were expected to get all the way to the semis, or even the final? Hmmm...

I don't know all the details, but I do know that the musician was wasted enough to do that, admitted he did it because he was wasted and didn't remember it the next day.
Do you actually KNOW all that, or do you just think you know? By know, do you mean "I've been reading the comments on WhaleOil's blog"? Or do you mean, I actually truly know. Reason I ask is that I thought (a) aspects of the details of the case been suppressed, and (b) Russell Brown implies up-thread that there is more to the case than has been reported.
These points would lead me myself to suspect that I don't know ANY of the things that I thought I knew about it. How do you fare? Perhaps a bit less of the standing in judgment about things, perhaps?
I believe in a society where we shouldn't be able to just buy the right to engage in criminal activity. ie. equality.
Quite. But, wha????
cross dressing man sentenced after indecent assault
A person committed an indecent assault, was caught, charged, and convicted for it. Your point is what, exactly?

Abby Winters was raided last year, and not for the first time.
In December 2009 CEO Garion Hall was charged by Victoria Police with 54 counts of making objectionable films for gain, and possessing a commercial quantity of objectionable films.
... which implies that the suspicion regarding production of material involving underage models turned out to be unfounded.

just last month a small-scale indoor grower without much of an IQ decided to get rid of the bugs on his almost ripe buds by spraying then with fly-spray!!! [...] Do you know who grows your smoke????
Of course, the gangs have been "souping up" their product using flyspray for years, so... some people wouldn't even notice the difference.
