And if you do go down to get tested, what constitutes a failed test? Are there established limits? And, if so, does being below said limit but still guilty of having measureable traces leave me liable for a charge of 'being high at some stage recently'?

There's still a long way to go to inform people about the real risks of drugged driving. Something more targeted to people who use drugs is probably a better option than the current campaign.

Floriditas has good food/service, but gets much too loud at lunchtime. Opposite is Le Metropolitain - a good French bistro; down the road on the corner is Ernestos.
The new awesomeness in Wellington has to be Meow on Willis St - but probably not so Mum-friendly, and gets a bit loud.
If Nikau has opened again (and I think they have), then that´s your best bet (confirming earlier suggestion of kedgeree).
The ultimate is, of course, Matterhorn. Go on, treat your Mum!

The main issue with Beal is his total lack of interest in conducting proper trials with ibogaine.
He and others are running some pretty dodgy clinics - it would be a significant problem if they set up one of these in NZ (there have been many recorded deaths with ibogaine).
So while there may be some benefits of ibogaine, many of us in the drugs business would want some good science over it first (a la methadone). Beal doesn't help the cause much.

The Police Association says the police don't have the power to attack drug traffickers.
WTF! Does the Police Assn not understand New Zealand's drug law, plus the work of its own members internationally (and with NZ Customs) on drug trafficking?!

What will be the unintended consequence of this law... what will gangsters need to do to get their confiscated patch back? Do this to Laws' house?

Hi James. The AA are wrong (I cannot understand how they justify their position - they're at odds with all road safety agencies; maybe their position is not based on road safety, but in the interests of their members?).
I will provide the research and evidence, which is the same Min. Transport and LTNZ (or whatever they are now) have also used in the road safety strategy. I won't do it just yet - I'm not at my desk. But it is compelling. The issue about lowering the level isn't for lack of evidence; it's political will.

The tests, apparently, aren't too bad for pot. But the issue of subjectivity still remains. One major concern, as with our current drug law (or most law infact), is the disproportionate impact on young brown (Maori and Pacific) men.

No filming. If, based on the subjective tests, they think you're impaired the Polcie can require you (as per alcohol tests) to undergo a blood test. If that proves you had a drug in your blood (no level required, unlike alcohol) you will be charged.
