"Actually most Maori I've met in the wider circle are also similarly disinterested in the culture that is an accident of some"

A word of appreciation for Jonah Lomu:
After his appearance on TV3 last night, I feel that he is worth a thousand Deakers -
First Suzy, now Barnes... we're great on the excuse department!
C'mon, dodgy refereeing decisions happen all the time. And quite often to the all Blacks advantage. We'd have been the last to complain if the Frogs had received the yellow card by mistake.
Accept it as part of sport and get over it - The only ones really suffering are the shareholders in TV3...
Congratulations to the French
There must be something else happening in the world?? -

`Judeo-Christian values' is really a bastardisation of the term `Abrahamic' values, and `Abrahamic religions'
or more longwindedly `Judeo-Christian-Islamic-Sabean' religions. All descended fom an amalgam of Semitic cults, whose main feature is that they emphasise The Word (and the auditory sense of religious experience), and, its concrete form, The Book; All have a common morality - which may differ, of course, in the individual severity of its application to everyday life.To distinguish it from the East Asian religious emphasis on Sight as the medium for enlightenment.
OK, thats Off-Topic enough for now... -
Anyone brought up the usurpation of `uninterested' by `disinterested' - makes this old pedant want to go postal...

Speaking as one over 50, I am not at all exercised about the burning of our flag - the design of which should have been replaced by something better yonks ago (silver fern anyone?)
We are not Americans who seem to worship their flag... -
The more I read these comments the happier I am that at 6 to 7PM I'm listening to Radio NZ news and commentary...
