So yes, Tiger eats Bolt.
Well just hold on a minute there!
According to the IAAF the results were:
Usain Bolt
Tyson Gay
Asafa Powel
Daniel Bailey
Richard Thompson
Dwain Chambers
Marc Burns
Darvis PattonSo the tiger would have, in fact, have eaten Darvis Patton.
Over the past few weeks I've been listening to the two part BBC Radio documentary "Sport’s Greatest Cover Up". Anyone who listens to that would find it difficult to take any track and field result seriously, the first thought anyone has when they hear of some new freak smashing of a world record is "drug cheat".
Does anyone, in their heart, really believe Usain Bolt is just a happy coming together of genes and starchy staples?
It makes me feel sad for the honest athletes, because to me whole sports are hopelessly tainted with drugs. And after listening to the BBC doucmentaries, it seems utterly predictable that it is sports particularly popular in Europe - athletics and cycling - that are the most utterly compromised ones.

I worked out last week why I never get to watch media 7. It is up against "Destroyed in Seconds", surely the greatest television program ever made.

In a word, no.
The toxin identified, tetrodotoxin, comes from bacteria in several species of fish and marine animals. It's a mystery as to exactly what's going on right now, but this a natural poison.
Lies! There is a conspiracy of silence between big government (DOC) and the chemical companies supplying them. It is a national scandal that now includes a sensational cover-up by government scientists. Dogs dying at Brown's Bay are just the collies in the coal mine on this one. We cannot forget the pooches poisoned whilst romping around our beaches. TV3 are going to make an expose on this, called:
Let us Bay

Just to come back to the AGS vs. Kelston skirmish, anyone else pick this up from the the Herald?
A person who attended the weekend game claims Auckland Grammar supporters triggered the problem by shouting racial taunts.
Povi Masima said: "A small group of AGS old boys who were drinking were hurling racial taunts which seemed a bit stupid since there were a number of Polynesian boys in the AGS team. Their taunting reflected badly on AGS and only contributed to the melee at the end of the game."
I thought "Povi Masima" was Samoan for Salt Beef.
Methinks some young fellow is pissing himself laughing right now, having hoodwinked some whitebread reporter...

I have come to the conclusion that atempts to get agreements on emission reductions will all fail.
The only hope is developing carbon sequestration technologies, otherwise our great children will reap a very bitter harvest indeed.

Be all political, or really, do something useful?
I didn't realise this was an either/or proposition.
I know there will be lots of good people who will take a day off from their normal charity activities to do something a bit different, but those people also work day in day out without the benefit of celebrity T.V.
For most, it is just a chance to make tem feel good about themselves, not help poor children.

I watch a Telethon and think that making a big deal over your $20 donation when on the balance of voting probabilities you also voted for a tax cut last November is the height of hypocrisy.
-
I have managed to avoid the entire Telethon, thank God. And since my day consists of making blackcurrent liquer and then having a brunch that will include lashings of bubbles as a reward for being good and staying home last night, I should be able to keep up avoiding it until it is over.

Guess Key heard someone. Seems to be modus operandi now.
It was either that or take on the Number Three I guess. And we all know what fanatics the Three's are.

That guy from Dipton was a complete waste of time. They might as well have interviewed someone from Dipton, Newcastle, England for all the insight we got.
And I was left with the uneasy feeling the whole rationale for the exercise was a sort of patronising "Oh... let's talk to a local hick and let the beltway snicker at his homely advice and Southland drawl".
