The only thing that would cause me to switch from Campbell Live to Close Up would be a Wells/Casserly presenter/producer combination.
Inspired. I'd tune in.

I certainly won't upgrade until the dust settles in a few years time
And it's quite possible that when the dust does settle, neither one of those formats will be preferable. Instead we'll all be making use of Telecom's unleashed network speeds and grabbing our HD content on demand via the interweb.

Some details have been "confirmed" by Digg founder Kevin Rose, as noted by Engadget:
Extremely small form factor
Two battery design -- one for music, one for phone functions
Single charger
Flash memory: 4GB for US$249, 8GB for US$449
Slide-out keyboard
Possible touchscreen
Likely launch with single GSM carrier (CDMA and other GSM to follow)Macworld definitely seems like the likely launch date.

will there be Insiders [sic] Guide to Happiness ones? Please please please?
Happiness was released on DVD but appears to no longer be for sale on Groovy's site, perhaps they all sold out? The follow-up is there too.

Which network would the Apple phone run on?
That would depend on whether it's a GSM or CDMA phone I guess?

Typographically speaking, was this the inspiration for the show's text treatment? (And right off topic, were Dobbo from Sports Tonight and Gromit from Wallace & Gromit separated at birth?)

or at least one you haven't already seen
Actually, we have seen it (and not via a torrent!). It screened earlier this year on One, mid-week and quite late at night (around 11pm). But that won't stop me from re-watching it from the start, it was funny and surprisingly heartfelt, reality TV done right.

Has anybody download album artwork from an iTunes store before?
I helped a fried in Australia download all the cover art for (most of) his albums over the weekend. It's as easy as selecting "Download Cover Art" from one of the menus in iTunes, and then watching them come down one by one. It took maybe an hour to find cover art for about 900 albums.
And no, it downloads only a single JPEG of each album's front cover (no internal or back cover art), which it stores inside the MP3/AAC file for every track on the album in question. The automated iTunes function is only available if you have an iTMS account, but there are third-party applications that will do the looking elsewhere for you until we're granted access here.

Q: So how do you suggest a new topic to a moderator?
We'll make this easier soon, but until then get in touch with Russell directly.

And yes, AFAIK, the boxes can be, and are, upgraded over the air.
Cunning. But given how long this model of set-top box has been in operation overseas, you'd expect a few more of the bugs to be ironed out, no? Still, would never go back...
