You obviously never received a student loan statement between 1999-2008.
Their student loan statements have nothing on Child Support payer letters. It's not unusual to receive three different letters on one day, all saying different things, none of them explaining themselves at all.
-
Kyle, as I said (and you ignored), the news is *all* about the dead child's ID. That's why Garrett has been dumped. Public opinion.
The claim was made that Hide knew that Garrett lied to the court. We don't know that at all.
Even if Hide demanded all the court documents relating to the 2005 case, that wouldn't have helped him. TVNZ have been saying that the document that they've seen isn't in the court documents, they've gotten it from elsewhere (I haven't heard anywhere where).
So it's entirely possible that ACT investigated his 2005 court appearance, heard about his 2002 conviction in Tonga, and didn't know that he'd lied to the court in 2005.
-
Come on, Kyle, that's the flimsiest of pretexts. Hide knows it, you must too.
I dunno. If you were the leader of a party and took someone on high on the list and they told you that they'd had a discharge and name suppression, and you agreed to take them on...
You'd be pissed if you found out that he'd lied to the courts to get that discharge and name suppression, and to you.
I'm dubious that Garrett told Hide that he'd lied to the court, because Act party list selection wouldn't be made by just Hide, and Act is falling apart at the seams. If Hide knew that he'd lied to the courts, then he's not the only one, and that's going to come out along with any other dirty laundry.
The simple answer is that Garrett didn't front up with the information "oh, and by the way, I lied to the court".
-
Hide did identify the lying to the court bit in the statement. He presumably didn't know about that when Garrett fessed up before the election.
-
David, you need to teach Bob how to spell more than his name. He got that bit really well.

Wrong thread, huh?
Depends if you were trying to invite her to the PAS meetup in Chch.

I'm sorry, we have an adultery test for our politicians now? I seem to remember it wasn't quite that simple.
There's no test. That's why he resigned.
There's also no test for Garrett. There aren't that many things that would get you kicked out of parliament, most people leaving resign.

I just want to talk up another young band making waves down here in Dunedin, Idiot Prayer.
The Press recently reviewed them as:
Last week someone messaged me on Facebook: "How do we get a CD to you?" they asked. Once they had saved up for postage ("didn't want to send them online, doesn't sound the same") a CD of mixes from Dunedin's Idiot Prayer with the words "Rob Mixes 12/7/10" arrived in a plain white sleeve with the track names scrawled on the back. What a gem it is. Imagine if HDU, Mountaineater, Headless Chickens and Dimmer all got together for a jam and you're there. Opening track Everything That Isn't Totally Satanic Should Go Away is simply explosive, propelling senses into orbit. The nine-minute-long Sausage Spectrum has opening drum beats that would awaken coma patients, instrumental F... Surf Monkeys is as wild and raw rock 'n' roll as it gets, while closer Death of A Hippy is surprisingly mellow. I don't know how you get this, maybe hit them up on Facebook?
The three band members come from Carriage H, Gestalt Switch and Monkey Knife Fight, they opened for the Chills a wee while back but haven't gotten out of Dunedin yet.

And Kyle, if you are going to do rankings like that, you have to normalize for the number of MPs each party has available to make fuck-ups. If Garrett were the only idiot in ACT, that's still make 20% of ACT MPs idiots...
I'm entertained by "normalize" and ACT being in the same paragraph.
If we could normalize ACT, that would be great, but I'm not holding high hopes.

To you Kyle maybe,
Actually I confused myself there and therefore typed it out wrong.
This is certainly worse than Carter and Jones, by a big margin.
