Hard News: The Real Threat, in reply to
luckily the crypto cat is out of the bag and we can all find our own secret large primes.
I was thinking about this the other night, about encryption and cyphers.
The simplest form of encryption could be considered is assigning a number to the letters of the alphabet, like A= 1 B= 2.. Then you have a ROT code like ROT 13 where M=1 N= 2 etc. These are easily broken.
Using a private key makes this harder. A simple form of this is to use a book known to both parties then assigning numbers to reference page, line and word. ie.
Well any way, perhaps we should all start using code...That'll fuck 'em. ;-) -

How do we break through the profound apathy of the "If you have done no wrong then you have nothing to hide, Jack" brigade?
Exactly but I wonder how many of that brigade stand by JK"s secret deals with Sky City or Warner Bros.
Double standards or what?. -
Pine Gap, typical of those secret squirrel Aussies. At least we are open and honest about ours down in Spy Valley, it even has a winery named after it.

Sometimes I think we live in a seal colony, we keep being tossed Red Herrings.
"We are going to mine Conservation Land"...."We are not going to mine Conservation Lands because we are really Green so you don't need that terrible Green party"
"We can;t afford a tunnel for Auckland but we have this little known guy down south who is part of a "group of business people" who wants to build a tunnel through the alps for a few tourist buses for about the same price"
"We are not going to dig tunnels in Conservation Lands because we are really Green so you don't need that terrible Green party"
How many more time do we get suckered? Its almost as if we are being manipulated by some sort of trader. Oh... hang on...

Three fatalities is $12m using NZTA’s model for determining the value of life
Strange, that is almost the same as 12 lifetimes wages for the average worker. Do you think we are being ripped off?
Sacha...
too much time on your hands, sir
Funny you should say that, have a click on my website link, if you have the time.

Unlike a notional Communist threat, however, people who run red lights are unarguably responsible for deaths, injuries, and many millions of dollars in cost to society.
I cannot site the article but I read the other day that a total of 3 people were killed last year buy "Red Light Runners". Tragic as that may be I doubt the "Millions of Dollars" tag.
I did, however, question the real motive behind cameras located at major intersections, inevitably linked to international intelligence gathering equipment, legally or not.kind of handy if you say what it is.
I know what you mean Sacha, all that clicking on links is so tiresome and curiosity is such a bore.

I found the picture while looking at this guy
The one that the Nice Nick Smith, in his Green shirt and tie, tells us is behind the Hole in Hobiton
If you know how Google+ works this may make you think you smell a rat in that hole.
But wait... there's more... -
General Key.
This picture, believe it or not comes from JK’s Google+ page, its the header image…Martin Niemöller said, for those of the “If you’ve done nothing wrong you have nothing to hide” brigade…
First they came for the communists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist. Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.These days its “Terrorists” not “Communists”
These days Its not “Reds under the bed” its “Redlight runners” and the cameras that trap them.
Thomas Jefferson said – that the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.Trouble is JK can’t pronounce Vigilance or Surveillance let alone tell the difference. -
