Maui wowie...
With Tearepa Kahi’s Poi E: The Story of Our Song poised for general release, it seems we’re paying some overdue attention to a proper legend.
...also nice to note that local parish legend (and beyond), Joe Wylie's original art for the Poi E album cover is held in the National Collection and is 'zoomable' in high res here!

tirade unionists...
spittle flecked

And fake tickets if need be
The perils of hand drawn tickets became clear at the reconciliation of tickets after The Fall's University gig - a completely hand drawn facsimile of Chris Knox's ticket design - all done in biro on matching coloured card showed up - How we laughed, I think even Doug was impressed - kudos for the effort!

Ice has a rich literary heritage as well
who can forget the slush the Trask's trainload of lettuces became when their Ice-packed carriages got held up by snow then sidetracked in a Chicago heatwave ( East of Eden, John Steinbeck) ]]
or Fat Boy the ice machine in Paul Theroux's The Mosquito Coast
filmed by Peter Weir an acknowledged Ice Wrangler -
