  • Hard News: Buy now: spend the recession inside!,

Let’s face it if enough of china starts drinking milk we’re sorted economically for a while and we don’t even have to dig up our outback to do it like ‘stralia.

Tibet is incredibly disturbing, as is Xinjiang , as is Iraq, as is the Sudan. The world is not free politically and never has been. It would be fantastic to start developing real consensual international policy to deal with oppression of freedom but at the same time we have to eat and our allies aren’t too bothered about the strength of our pantry.

…and Ralston is just saying what I’m sure the MSM is saying everyday behind closed doors, “what the hell is the blogosphere and why do I feel pain when I think about it?”

  • Hard News: A business most feral,

International observer ...got the joke, just played another one on ya by laughing at the idea you were a racist because of one post . Your post isn't racist it's just clumsy.

Epsom is a well to do electorate, a success story of the New Zealand economy. Yet they have a party representing them that is trying to convince us of their economic victimisation status.

But your post isn't racist. I got that and people who thought it was took it out of context. cheers.

"Jeremy: I know I'm going to regret asking, but WTF are you going on about? "

    Hi Craig,

I’ll explain when I get off work but I really wish you’d stop starting your posts in such a cuntish partonising way, habit of a lifetime I guess….and the quotes, ......I'm thinking of a word that starts with s , ends with b and has 'no" in the middle....and intellectual in the front.

But it’s good you asked, that’s what you should have done in the first place.

  • Hard News: Unhappy Birthday,

Ralston’s just being a bit well……….. weird. All the media are. They don’t really know what’s around the corner for them and they’re fretting. You would.

the media is changing and it's a power change more than a fiscal change.

the answer : tell the truth and tell it in such a way that everyone understands it, you’ll be the dominant media for the next era.

  • Hard News: A business most feral,

    Just got in.

Well , I’m a suburb bigot. I just love the instant label machine. ..but hey I got some time off from, ummm what do people do that stops them commenting on threads all day ( adopts best John Stewart Voice) ….Worrrrking.

Like the great Dave Chapelle said ,“I’m not a bigot but I do do statistics.”

Act were on their way out last election until they moved all their considerable forces from canvassing the national electoral vote to talking Richard Worths seat in Epsom, not Mangere .that is….Epsom. That happened overnight, no other party could have done that , they wouldn’t have had the money.

Changed votes with wads of cash , not policy. I was there, I drove straight through the billboard forest every morning. Vote for us because New Zealand doesn’t want us and we’ll have to go home. Why doesn’t New Zealand want them? Because their polices are frankly economically whacko.

Why did they go to Epsom and not Mangere? Because its rich, well richer than most electorates and people who have done well from our current economic set up would be more than likely live their, statistics bear this out.

Yet even given the considerable financial rewards many have gained under the current free business environment we have (World Bank ranking and all), members of this electorate changed their vote nearly overnight in electoral terms to make sure a party funded by millionaires would stay around in parliament long enough to “do fuck all”, lose weight and drop people on their heads .

So they blitzed a very well heeled community into letting them stay in parliament , a community who had been ready to support the National incumbent until the order was given.

I’m not being partonising to the people of Epsom, only the ones who voted act , the most useless party in the history of New Zealand politics. A party surviving on the chequebooks of people who have done incredibly well in their participation in the marketplace of New Zealand . A party who seem convinced that the only way for me to move forward is to loosen law, wield more undemocratic power on to private enterprise and hope they have a use for me in their grand vision, now that’s patronising.

I’m not saying it’s illegal. I’m just saying it’s politics we don’t need. Ya know lets get our Obama on or we’ll look out of touch with the rest of the world.

P.S ..Why do people wet themselves when someone uses the word ‘fuck”. It’s great word , so much better than piss. …and hey I didn’t start that , I just replied with likewise language to prove my point like Professor International Observer. ..you old racist.

And Christians, sometimes are really lovely people but , the son of god and the old “virgin birth” thing, come on you are a bunch of irrational space cadets.

Why can’t Jesus just be a well meaning guy with a beard.

"Oh, piss off. At least Evelyn Waugh was amusing when he vented his disgust at the idea of vulgar and stupid people electing their governments:"

Oh, fuck off (wow, abuse it's so easy). Socialist oppression, Evelyn Waugh. You should really go for a walk and meet the citizens of New Zealand one day.

"As far as I can tell I've never even mentioned him by name -- and even on the two occasions I expressed some distaste for the iwi-versus-kiwi billboards, my language wasn't exactly angry."

Yeh. Ironically in 2005 I remember you and few others here generously remarking on their cleverness. I remember this because I sent you a remark pretty much pointing out Paul R's great post above, that they seemed to shit all over private market advertising standards.

Their persuasiveness was based on presenting distorted, misleading and emotive views on policy differences between the parties. Propaganda plain and simple.

But gee didn’t Don look good. Why are we still dealing with an Act party? Do the people of Epsom still feel victimized so much they need their own party? Has the price of pool cleaning gone up recently? Maybe we should have a telethon for them?
