  • Hard News: Friday Music: Slow Burns,

I so want a copy of Downhill Racer by Shaft.
One of NZ's pop gems on a par with Elefunk in my Soup, Beings Rest Finally, along with the Hulamen et al.
    Slightly offbeat music.
    What do I do?
I'm old school and like hard copies.

  • Hard News: Dirty Politics,

    I'm disgusted also.
Just another sign of the old school Nat patricians being nudged aside.
Listening to Finlayson's contempt for Ross on the national program this morning was a telling moment.
This goes back to the smiling assassin and the parvenus he dragged in.
Dirty politics in the context of the Nats hasn't gone away.
Jason Ede, Whaleoil, Lusk, all those other bottom feeders are still out there and with this bandage ripped off we can see how they operate all bankrolled on a nod and a wink donations with a pat on the back in the honours list.
They aren't masterminds but they're not totally inept either.
100 K and the Nats start thinking about putting the donor and his lieutenant into their ranks.
    Bloody cheap don't you think?
Collins is their player at this end of politics and we'll see where this goes.
With Bridges walking wounded do they keep him in place and wait 'til the elections are nearer or do they seize the moment?
I know the Nats aren't evil baby eaters but sometimes the whiff of sulphur from their ranks gives me pause.

  • Hard News: Dirty Politics,

Schadenfreude, a great big tub of it to scoop out and enjoy while the press hunts down some wounded politicians.
    Delicious.
I wonder who Judith's been on the phone with these last few days.
More cock-up than conspiracy which seems to be the way of these things.

  • Hard News: Reassure Me: cannabis,…, in reply to simon g,

Imagine being Simon Bridges, not quite getting that boost in the polls with nothing to show for his road show.
Meanwhile the soft breathing of The Crusher susurrating in the background like something metastasizing in a Stephen King novel.
tick tock tick tock, quick throw some half baked plan to the media and see if anything sticks.
Te Atatu conservatism and a fool from Swanson aren't quite exciting Joe Public.
Not really much feel about a new generation taking over is there.
For God's sake politicians of all stripes just get with the program and come up with a workable legalization fudge and let the dust settle I'm getting bored with waiting.

  • Hard News: Miles on the Clock,

He looks like he doesn't have a plan b for the future.
Trying to cling on to the meth buster gravy train.
I feel that he's wallowing in a big pool of entitlement and insincerity in the full knowledge of the distress in his wake.
Begone Sir and if you can, please reflect on the mayhem you've caused because your business model has created substantial pain to those least able to cope with it.

Would you play poker against Avenatti?
Has this been the plan all along to use Stormy Daniels as a stalking horse to open up Trump's corruption? How much more has he got?
If this is what a porn stars lawyer can unearth what can Mueller access?
    Is Cohen singing?
    How good is his protection?
I generally don't like conspiracy theories but this seems to be more than a porn star after more exposure, - sorry.
As a Kiwi I can say pass the popcorn but if I was a U.S. citizen I'd be weeping.
One last thought, imagine what Fox news et al would be like if they had shit like this on Clinton.

  • Hard News: Trump 2018, in reply to Bevan,

Everything about Trump feels like watching a car crash

Yes indeed, but if the car is the USA who will have the ability to fix the nation which is so divided and dysfunctional at its highest level?
It's not Trump, in fact he can be viewed as a symptom of what is ailing the US.
The " city on a shining hill" is starting to look like a shit can.
The US political system needs some serious attention however I don't see how these will be addressed in a satisfactory manner. I hope that the post Trump America takes a good long soul searching look at itself.
I fear that it's teetering on the edge of a very dark fall.

    President Cnut.

A gold star for you and you can take the dusters out at the end of the lesson to bang them clean.

I hereby propose that Trump/Drumph is officially President Cnut from here on in.

He can sit on his throne of shit like the pathetic creature he truly is.

America, whither goest thou? shiny car ekcetra
