Hard News: Park Life, in reply to [email protected],
Especially as most of it has nothing on it, save grass and livestock.
Just someone's livelihood you mean? You might not appreciate but there is a shedload of effort that goes into "grass and livestock".

I’m a little concerned over some of the logic here. If this land is publicly-owned and people are supposedly “prevented” from enjoying the use of it because golf is not their chosen pastime, it does not follow that change is “necessary”. If you applied that line of thought, then we should redevelop the zoo (because not everyone likes animals), all regional parks (for outdoor haters), public roads (some people don’t have cars), beaches (non-swimmers) etc etc.
I think we all understand the pressure on the last remaining open spaces that exist within that city. Once they are gone, they are gone. The proposal seems to me to be the start of “death by a thousand cuts”.
And, to Steve Curtis –
Playing fields are notorious dead zones apart from Saturday
– you obviously don’t drive past Seddon Fields. Very rarely is there not some form of activity taking place. It is a very positive “beating heart” of the local community. One of the enjoyable things about Auckland is being able to see trees and grass, or to be able to see further than the next high-rise shithole. Unless you are a property “developer” I guess.

"I genuinely couldn't recall and I wasn't going to take a stab."
This seems to be a confession that sometimes he "couldn't recall" genuinely?

Hard News: Incomplete, inaccurate and misleading, in reply to Alfie,
John Armstrong has penned a fairly damming response in the Harold.
Faintly damning, hardly no-holds-barred smackdown.

On November 17, 1973, President Richard Nixon infamously denied any involvement in the Watergate scandal with his now timeless defense. Thing is, he was.
JK will be OK though, he simply won't remember. When you are in deep, always go with what you know best.

Bam! Straight shooter Andrew Little aims from the lip
"How are you going to beat John Key in 2017?"
"What we won't be doing is what he has done now for so long, which is give the appearance of a happy-go-lucky chappy but run the vilest, nastiest smear machine we have ever seen in New Zealand politics. We will be calling him out on that."
Is it just the joy of Spring or do I feel hope?

That Mr key, he's such a nice man, I'm sure he knows what he's doing dear.

Could/would/should this entire topic be one that we can expect the MSM to investigate and report on?
Or have they started already?

Hard News: Doing over the witness, in reply to Jack Harrison,
A true christian does not write the headline , “Feral dies in greymouth, did world a favour.”
With religion to one side for a moment, I would say that the quote was written by a person "boldly empowered" - the type of coward that rushes forward and gets a couple of kicks in when the assault victim has been knocked down by the gang's leader. No risk of personal injury to themselves, but the rush!
