Possibly before your time, yes. I brought Blair, Emma, David Haywood and Stanier Black Five to Auckland for the Great Blend we staged at the Town Hall concert chamber. I'm just cooking at the moment, but I'll dig out links for the videos and the app that CactusLab made for Blair's "Brickface" font, which was made from bricks retrieved from their fallen chimney.

If the intention was to send a ‘postcard ‘from the broken heart of Chchch to the rest of New Zealand, so people could ’experience’ our ‘story’ I would rather redirect them to New Brighton musician and artist Blair Parkes’ excellent ‘Chimney Book’ video, hosted on NZ on Screen, (and commissioned to public fulfilment by Russell for a Public Address Great Blend in 2011), and to ‘When a City Falls’ …
I felt that commissioning 'Chimney Book' and getting it in front of people was an important thing that was within my power to do. I wish you'd been there for the public screening (along with Stanier Black Five's sound work) at the Great Blend, Ian. It was powerful. My main memory is Bart Janssen and I holding on to Emma while she basically lost her shit in the dark.

Very revealing contrast in the way TV One (and Katie Bradford) framed Cunliffe’s speech and TV3 (and Amanda Gillies) on their 6 pm TV news items.
Bradford’s report was okay until she decided the most important news was Cunliffe’s alleged “slip-up” and quoted unnamed “sources” in the Labour Party to prove her point that it would be a major talking point at the party congress this weekend. I’m calling bullshit on that.

Here he is speaking about something incredibly important, and bloggers and the media choose to focus on a single sentence, and to report it out of context. I guess I hoped we were more mature than that.
When I wasn't actively angry, I was pretty much in despair about this yesterday.
Internet Party candidate Miriam Pierard has written about what Cunliffe said (and what Paula Bennett did).

Part One of Jen Ferguson's Glastonbury blog review -- it's amazing how so many of her highlights were away from the big stages: brass bands, a New York-style gay disco. It sounds wonderful, actually.

Just to note -- and I have thus amended and annotated the original post -- I'm satisfied that if anyone used the word "crazy" it was not Gerard Smyth.
He clearly has criticisms of the project, but I don't think he said that.

I also don’t think Russell is being fair to Vicki Anderson, she raised many valid points echoed by many comments here, her digs at NZ on Air and APRA were not exceptionally excessive, and I thought warranted in context.
Nor was it any more rambling than she telegraphed it would be.Fair enough. And I definitely acknowledge her post-earthquake writing. But she does have an NZ On Air hangup.

As pointed out, every individual in Chchch was the author of their own Earthquake Story/Experience.
I think that to many Hope and Wire will be like seeing their brilliant ‘novel’ badly filmed by a committee
