Dr Edwards who most would agree knows about interviews and can hardly said to have a right wing bias (though I don’t doubt at least one fool will claim that his conclusion shows he must have one and that he is consequently a class traitor)
Edwards has a massive chip on his shoulder about Campbell in particular, and invariably comes down on the side of the interviewee in these situations. I thought this was actually a textbook demonstration of the problem with being too polite to your highly media-trained subject.

Mind you, before I was 18 months old
was four when I broke my arm and sustained a pretty solid concussion when I slipped while running around the edge of a good old tractor-tyre sandpit. Damn thing must have been all of 30cm high. I think I was in hospital for about a week.

I wonder if you guys might be over-interpreting. Rebecca Wright is an experienced reporter with a rep for doorstepping and pursuing politicians (to a fault sometimes, imo), Gower was probably smiling in a pass-the-popcorn fashion.

In that case why are we OK with the SIS and Police spying on us, but not the GCSB? Does the GCSB have much better technology or something?
As I said in the post, I think you can make an argument for the GCSB (or a new agency) to provide technical services to other agencies. But you can't look at that in isolation.
It was only via the Snowden leaks that The Guardian was able to report -- and very well, too -- that GCHQ, a similar organisation to GCSB and part of the same five-way alliance, has secretly been paid £100 million by the NSA. What is the nature of our own agency's relationship with the NSA, and what could it share with the NSA? There's just nothing in the bill to circumscribe those activities, and that's just not good enough.

We used to do that on sand dunes.
Old-school playground swings were the bizzo. With a little practice you could wind up and let go at just the right point in the arc so that you launched up and out and achieved enough height to go quite some distance.
