I love what Mega could offer as a content distribution platform – imagine being able to purchase content and have it immediately transferred to your Mega account for download whenever and wherever – excellent idea.

As someone who uses Adblock to control what I see, I have zero sympathy for advertisers getting “hijacked” in this way. Sorry, but its my screen, not yours, and I’ll decide what I see there thanks.
And so my right to decide what’s displayed on my site, next to my work, is unimportant? Good to know.
What does worry me is that it suggests that the new model of internet advertising is going to be competing strains of Spamware. Which just makes things more unpleasant for the clueless.
Yeah, see above. Because some numpty has installed that spamware, they’re going to be loading god-knows-what sort of hostile advertising when they come to my website. Awesome.

Hard News: The Waterview Bore, in reply to Duncan McKenzie,
NZTA were not keen on funding the 2.4 km of cycleway parallel to the tunnel, which would have left a gap between its (proposed) termination in the middle of Alan Wood Park and Point Chevalier.
That would have been royally stupid.
Thankfully, NZTA were required to fund Auckland Council/Auckland Transport to do the project. It does involve bridges across the railway and the Oakley Creek and some private land acquisition so perhaps I should not have been as disappointed as I was when I learned that it was going to take as long to build as the motorway itself (projected completion 2017).
Oh well. I fully intend to still be riding by then.

Ah, of course. I think I’d assumed Jaar was just another remix DJ, rather than an artist in his own right.
“Space is only noise” from 2011 is a decent album.
I can see it's going to be a bit like last year, with the electronic stuff being the most interesting for me -- not least because Laneway's pretty much the only place to hear it live. Just listening to Flume and thinking they'll be this year's SBTRKT.
Also listening to Cloud Nothings and hoping something decent will be on while they're playing.
