Actually Paul what is your take on that HBO stat that there’s 105m US TV subscribers but only 3m with broadband? I’d have thought broadband penetration much much higher than that?
The sentence ends " ... and reasonable amounts of money but no multichannel TV."
So most households with money and broadband also have multichannel TV, where they already get that content. It narrows the opportunity quite a bit.

I suppose you’d argue that legal = legitimate, but if I wanted to watch legal and fresh episodes of Game of Thrones, as far as I know, the *only* way is to pay Sky about $1000 a year. Screw that.
This is actually the key problem with Sky's reseller agreements -- they explicitly prevent disaggregation of content. The ISPs who have signed such deals can only present exactly the service that Sky says they can. They're prohibited even from selling content not sourced from Sky.

Hmm. One thing that's not noted in Hunter's book, but is noted in the Royal Commission report is that Hutton's original order was for rifles to be collected from friends, family and associates and from neighbors within a five-mile radius of the Crewe farm.
Thomas's rifle was the only one collected outside those criteria -- he lived eight miles away -- apparently because "the Police were aware of his past association with Jeanette Crewe." Even though he'd been fond of her years before, shortly after they both left school, and was now happily and securely married, with no known association with the Crewes.
The RC rightly held that that such cherry-picking was prejudicial to Thomas. How many similar (i.e.: "can't be ruled out") rifles might have been collected if all the rifles in an eight-mile radius had been collected?

I would imagine households of more than 3 people could easily use a 20gGB cap even if everything they did was on the level, if they were mostly interested in video format content.
Or gaming. Our boys have purchased single game clients larger than 20GB via Steam, and that's not even considering the traffic generated by playing.
I'm still trying to find out whether my weekend Coachella viewing is covered under my all-you-can-eat YouTube deal, given that it wasn't delivered via the Google CDN.

It’s also in the interest of the ISPs to promote piracy and make life difficult for the copyright holders, because the network traffic generates significant profits for them . . .
Feel free to produce an example of an ISP promoting piracy though. They'd just as soon make money selling access to legitimate services, or do deals for zero-rating.

The only positive memory I have of cheerleaders at rugby was when the Auckland ones approached the terraces during a certain Shield match. Cowbells drove them away immediately.
For a while in the 90s, the ones at Eden Park were actually pretty good -- as in highly athletic and well-choreographed. They were worth watching.

I think I was pretty clear that the Blues' problems run a lot deeper than the refereeing in one match -- but Walsh was awful on Friday.
