when the whole thing started getting a bit silly, a bit paranoid, and quite literally “you’re either with us or against us”.
I do recall when Perigo's radio show was cancelled and he ranted about it being the work of "my enemies". The idea that the owners of the business had made a commercial decision didn't seem to be worth countenancing.
Meanwhile, Lew at Kiwipolitico gets a visit from a couple of the furious adolescents who hang out at Solo Passion. Ick.

Hardly the point. It has a fairly substantial audience which benefits from any informed commentary on its content.

I suspect you can replace ‘any scientist’ with ‘anyone’ in that sentence.
It’s more relevant in some sectors than others. Screen producers: it’s their job to Find Money to Do Stuff. Scientists and artists, not so much.

Good piece by Gordon there, but I wish he hadn't brought up this one again:
The Greens have been out of real power for 12 years. Helen Clark spurned the Greens after the 2005 election, and chose to go with Peters instead.
Peters had the numbers and the Greens -- by a matter of a few hundred votes that would have given them an extra MP, iirc -- didn't. Peters declared he wouldn't share a coalition with the Greens and he got his way because he could provide a majority.

And then Cameron Brewer… Yet another unpleasant personality in the too-long roster of contemporary vileness. Looking around the near abandoned shopping precinct in Newmarket shows how effective he was as a paid spruiker.
It would be fair to say that Brewer is and has always been a spruiker for himself.

No one really seems to grasp the full issue here. This has nothing, and should have nothing to do with politicians and their worthless attempts to protect youth from their own fears.
I think plenty of people reading and commenting here grasp that issue. I realise you're pissed off, but there's no need to be slinging off at everyone else in the discussion.
