Steve could be a bit harsh at times
Yes. The asshole part ought to be remembered too.

I once dropped a Mac off to your house for you to review, round 1996.
Which one?

It's really notable how many people are saying -- generally in fewer words -- something akin to what I wrote above. They link their own work (and creative work especially) to the Macs on which it was done. I think that's quite remarkable.

I wonder if the workers at Foxconn will get a half-day holiday to attend a memorial service?
I guess Sony, Intel, HP, Microsoft and all the other companies whose assembly is done by Foxconn might object. I’m happy to have that discussion another day.

It is a lesson in clarity of thought and brevity in language – exactly what many rambling, muddled boffins need. And everyone can use Twitter to sharpen their ideas.
Good note to himself, and myself.
The mandated economy is a pleasant challenge -- I think it suits writers. It's friggin' hopeless for debating though.

Interesting thoughts. I find increasingly the inter-textuality and meta-fictive devices can develop within a twitter stream beyond what might be expected of 140 characters.
Those little flurries within a day, or an hour, do make me happy. I love the live-ness of it.

Heh. There is an actual character limit here, though, seriously? I’ve hit it several times. By design?
Ooh! Really? I did not even know.

But seriously, I think this column by the Australian philosopher (not a Python joke) Damon Young on first impression of Twitter is really very perceptive and deserves the attention it’s getting this week.

I'm sorry Ben, but you've breached the 140-character limit.

Israel Dagg at Five Eighth! We always play someone out of position and lose... but is Dagg the exception?
No. He's a brilliant fullback who's never played at first-five. Those Herald sports columnists are trolling on a daily basis.
And it's too late now, but it does surprise me that Toeava hasn't been developed as a back-up first-five. He played there through age grades (and occasionally even at NPC level, iirc) and has all the requisite skills.
