I have always maintained you were some sort of social engineer, now I know it to be true. Or if you don’t like the term ’social engineer”, the term “the glue that holds people together” might please you better.
I've thought of it as being able to draw a crowd. Without really knowing how -- because I am not of a systematising mind -- communities have formed around things I've done. Anther way of looking at it is that I know how to throw a party.

As for boycotts, I would urge you not to boycott all Fairfax products!

“Being on holiday” is not an excuse unless he suspends his pay when he’s on holiday – even then it’s not an excuse if you have a spine.
Either he took part in the decision to send the nastygram to Edwards, or he wasn't even consulted. Neither option reflects particularly well.

3 News website story by Dan Satherly.
Laws is quoted, then posts a whiny comment. It's conceivable that his rude reply to Marilynn McLachlan meant something other than everyone thought it did, but it's also quite possible he knew what he was saying.

All Blacks vs Japan is a great idea. But it could be a dull game. All Blacks vs Barbarians, in Japan, with preference to the top Japanese stars?
A Barbarians team featuring the top former All Blacks and other expats currently playing rugby in Japan would work rather well.

Meanwhile, the mother of an Aspie boy has posted this response to Laws on her blog.
Laws has now replied, informing the mother that it is her fault her son is Asperger.
Just, wow.

Regarding the various discussions here (SST, Askew etc), I highly recommend tonight’s Media 7, where Our Russell gives the editor of the SST a right bollocking, and Len Brown a lighter bollocking.
The mayor was certainly a bit more bollocking-proof. He's been paying attention at media training, I suspect.
