Here's another interview/discussion with Prof Lessig (& rambling conversation thereafter), this time offering a bit more thought regarding Lessig's apparent unwillingness to address the problems that have been pointed out regarding remixing.
I've now read/explorered a bit more of Andrew Dubber's newmusicstrategies and newradiostrategies, both of which would have probably been a good place to start, rather than end (regardless of view).

...readers who told the best customer service story (I gather the winner was bloody stoked about it).
Did someone win?...look's a bit like a loose end on that thread.
...that the producers of heavily promoted prime-time shows on well-established channels like Sensing Murder and Shortland Street probably aren't lying awake fretting about getting out-rated by Media 7.
More's the pity!

Happend to hear Mediawatch (cut & paste link) from a few weeks back, NBR fulla Neville Gibson harping on that the media in NZ is...um (cough) left-leaning. I see comment was made at kiwiblog regarding the bias of the interviewer.
Suspect it's a case that everyone naturally has a bit of a persecution complex regarding the media's treatment of their party.
I see the "Rupert Brown" rumour has again surfaced and despite the denial upthread, RB probably doesn't own just one TV station, one radio station, one media empire...

Kim Hill interviewed Malcolm Gladwell over the weekend and Education was one of the many things discussed.

"Important" discussion of the number 6, with much time spent on degrees of separation and Bacon-numbers. (from BBC Radio...meaning Real audio format)

BBC Radio 4's examination (not exactly NZ centric) of what it means to be on the Left or Right of the political spectrum....Which is really just an excuse to share BBC Radio 4's archive.

The Crusader's away-shorts may have been inspired by Buck at the bottom of a French ruck.

Immediately I wanted to see some cool NZ time-lapse mash-ups of Street View. (NB I could only get the .flv files to run.)

The Guardian has an article today on the subject of copyright infringement and the heavy-handed tactics that seem to follow.

perhaps slightly off-topic, but this is amusing.
