I protest! There are no spoilers in any of my posts for any of the four games played tonight!
Just laying down firm ground rules. I had to have stern words with Giovanni last season. I download the game video, which takes a couple of days by the time I get to watch it.
PAS-ers such as you and Kyle are the only NZ-based hockey fans I've come across.
NZ based hockey fans can be found here. Though they'll be watching the IIHF site tonight to see if NZ can beat China in the Div II world champs (already beaten Israel, so have avoided relegation).

(Meanwhile, really exciting start to the playoffs!)
Just stop right there and zip it.
Though my team had a bad season, and didn't make it, I'm transferring my support to the penguins and looking forward to seeing Giovanni's Sens go down.

With employment insurance, what happens with it if you retire/die etc? Does it only come back to you if you get made unemployed, or can you or your estate retrieve it in other ways?
Sounds like it would make a good voluntary scheme, which the government might support in the same way as kiwisaver because they'd then save on unemployment benefits.

Heck, even Melissa Lee had a brief wobble along the first fifty metres or so (on a classy green urban bike brought along by Rode of Point Chev) before dashing back to catch a taxi at Nixon Park.
Wait, she caught a taxi (both ways?) to a cycleway?
Was she wearing a "two more cars" on her back?

I think Toby still has it right:
We’re flying in a Lockheed eagle series L-1011. It came off the line 20 months ago and carries a Sim-5 Transponder tracking system. Are you telling me I can still flummox this thing with something I bought at Radio Shack?
If there is indeed a potential problem surely they should design planes that can withstand a terrorist attack by Nokia.

I find him more credible than many publications. Not sure if that counts as sad or strange.
I did wonder how far up into the air cell phone coverage extends. I presume the towers send receive to all points, including straight up.

I'm not sure if bfm isn't self-funding, as someone noted, it's got a much bigger audience than other student radios. AUSA is already voluntary so they don't have much money to throw at things that bleed money every year.
Radio One still gets a sizeable grant from the students association, and would be under threat from VSM.
-
So why doesn’t bFm get broadcast nationally then?
I'm not sure if the other student radio stations would be happy with that. In fact, I suspect they'd be pissed and it would tear their structure (b-net I think it's called?) apart.
They all seem to stream live over the interwebs, so anyone anywhere should be able to listen.

I'm not sure what name recognition Marcus Lush or Wallace Chapman brought with them.
Wallace was from Radio One. Probably nil name recognition in Auckland but [insert JAFA snide remark here/south of Bombay Hills/mainland blah blah blah].

Clark, well more Winston Peters really, did mandate that a Fijian football player with nebulous links to the government couldn’t visit here to play a qualifier for this year’s World Cup. This meant our “home” leg got played in Fiji.
The away leg got played in Fiji, the home leg got played in Samoa I think.
But that's precisely the point. Both governments have been quite principled about the ban until it became rather difficult to do so. Particularly when it starts to affect NZ as much or more than it does Fiji. Much more difficult to ban the Fijian 7s team, than just tell the All Whites that they'll have to play their home game elsewhere.
There are of course principles, and "principles", recent governments seem to have the latter in this area.
