It rated well (for a late night show on C4), god knows what it cost though...
I do wonder if they looked at moving it to TV3 after nightline/sports tonight.
It would have a great flow-on from nightline, though it might show up their flagship late news show. Would have gotten a bigger audience there though.

A business-like care giver would then logically not care for own child and only spend their time caring for other people's children, allowing other care givers to care for their own child.
I'm no expert, but I doubt that the government starts paying full time for caregiving just because you do a child swap.
It would seem logical if the funding was attached to the person needing care. That way it could go to a parent or outside professional.

I loved the Mighty Ducks movies.
But then again, the first one came out when I was 4.
Yeah. Try watching them again now. Painful.

Could I ask for some context? What allowances or other support do people in this situation currently get?

Tony Vietch paid money and avoided prison for Violent assault and left her for dead.
I wouldn't want to defend what he did, but his actual actions were bad enough, I don't think he actually left anyone 'for dead'. Someone actually has to be dying to be left for dead, his assault on her was serious but not that serious.

Have you heard the old saying - "Research is used as a drunk uses a lamp post; more for support than illumination".
Have you heard the other old saying - "Catchy saying don't actually prove points"?
When others want to view my availability, they have to at least buy me a couple of drinks first.
Heh. Jack Hopeful said "syncing".

Generally speaking, the best sporting movies are the ones which keep the match re-enactments to a minimum.
For some reason, my favourite sporting movies (ice hockey ones tend to be pretty average, except for Mystery, Alaska, and that's not really about ice hockey), are American football ones: Friday Night Lights, Varsity Blues, Remember the Titans. Which is ironic, because I can't get into watching the actual sport.

Will people have libraries with them - hell yeah. Good grief when MP3 devices first came out people laughed at the idea that you'd ever want more than a couple of albums worth of music to carry with you - much the same way people are scoffing at the idea of having more than one (real) book with you.
I think Bart has this right about digital readers. It's not to read the latest novel curled up on the couch that they'll be big. People are going to use these sorts of things in their employment - technical manuals, architectural plans, salespeople. Software that you tap a bunch of different recipes and it creates a complete shopping list for you. Looking up reviews of products while in the actual shop.
etc etc etc.

As a Dunedinite, I recommend you catch "I'm Not Harry Jenson"; a slow-building but effective Kiwi flic on at the Rialto. Has had zilch publicity (except on-line) and I fear it could sink without trace--I was the sole audience member at a screening today.
Caught that on Monday at a pre-screening. Spot the shortland street stars (and Ian Mune).
I thought it was pretty good, well done on a low budget.
(Come say hi if you do come to Delgirl tonight. I'm the really tall guy with glasses, with the relatively short girlfriend)

Placing stories on a page is an artform and I want to see the paper laid out as the editors intended.
Argh! Nothing against papers, but breaking technological advancements to make them look like older technology drives me nutes.
It's like people who want a web site designed and expect it to be linear, going from one page to the other, like a book or brochure.
The advantages of papers being read online is that physical structure, space limitations, someone else's order and structure, lack of interactivity are all no longer needed.
