But some organization out there is banning words and combinations thereof.
News and other shows will often not use certain words. You probably haven't heard many swear words on the 6pm news, and if they're reporting on someone who said it they'll normally bleep it out.
Even these trends change however. When the 'bugger' ad came out the debate about that was on the news (can't remember if the newsreader said it or not). You wouldn't have had that on the news 20 years earlier (or on the ad).

I think you should distinguish between admin staff, most of whom won't be well paid, and management.

I hear that Ihimaera chap might have one out again soon.
The book so good, he's writing it twice? (Or, 1.996 times, final number may decrease as Jolisa finds more free time).

Having appeared on TV with Paul Henry many times, I can confirm the impression that in person he is often funny and charming. Unfortunately, on camera, he is sometimes a mean-spirited bully.
I'm not sure what your conclusion is Russell. Does that make it OK? Not OK? Not so bad?
I'm not sure what's worse: 1. A reasonable person who puts on their arsehole for a camera and an audience of thousands, or 2. One who wears it all the time. At least 2 is honest about who they are.

Let's work on that, then. It's alarmingly expensive to fly there from Auckland, but if I can get a flight well in advance, I'll come down and spout some old bollocks.
Yay. Dunedinistas will happily get together and listen and spout back. Bring books and their writers with you.

Also we need to move away from the confused notion that sports in any way deliver significant amounts of exercise to people, especially children.
I'm curious about this too Dyan. Can you explain more?

Ah, fair point. You'll need to have Nigel Latta on though.

What on earth makes you think that the TAB would sponsor someone who can predict stuff in the future?
Try and have you locked up maybe...

Since it's Friday, apropros of this, did anyone watch V on Wednesday (Firefly alumni!)?
I was quite disappointed with the lack of subtlety of the whole thing. From my vague memories of the original V miniseries, the first hint of the aliens not being what they appeared was when one of them caught and downed a mouse from a dumpster, a fair way in.
In the remake, there's exploding floaty things and one of them gets whacked with a stick and is all lizard underneath less than an hour in.
Which made me wonder why they didn't just grab the nearest lizard, rip off it's skin, and point it at the nearest TV camera. Could have cut it back to a made-for-TV movie.
