  • Field Theory: I suppose you can call it…,

    It hurts.

Time to move on my friend. That bitterness inside will only leave you twisted and unable to form any healthy relationships with a cricket team in the future.

  • Legal Beagle: The Inexorable Advance,

I didn't see Paul using it to shut down debate. I saw him using it to take a poke at Roger Douglas, who apparently can't find anything more worthy of his attention in parliament.

Still, I'm sure yappy dogs like Emma and I will hold our tongues about marriage equality until world peace, global hunger and global warming has been addressed. OK?

There's an equivalence Paul never made.

As Graeme admits, this is a point of principle which may make no practical difference.

Which isn't the case with marriage equality, marriage does have a number of practical differences from the alternatives.

There's also no downside to allowing more people to get married. There's flow on effects from VSM. As Graeme admits, there can be justification for the state not extending it on that basis.

  • Hard News: The son that got away,

Yeah, but then you get into the whole "what is a light smack?" thing. And if you want messy....

And also how "amending the wording" isn't changing it :)

    principals

It's aggravating me, above any of the content, that this is being spelt wrong in a discussion about rights. Schools have principals.

I get similarly up and arms when Dungeon and Dragon geeks write along the lines of "Sir Arthur took up his horse's reigns..."

    Umm, as you were.

  • Hard News: Detritus,

No more little luxuries, like animal protein or soap, for a while.

If you run out and slaughter something, you can take care of both of those things between the meat and the fat.

I just mean to say that it was kind of a distraction from the central point that Laws scored an epic fail in Level 1 Acting Like An Adult.

It does make you wonder how many times he'll fail the course before he gets excluded. Good honest citizens are paying money for him to be mooching around year after year failing that 100-level paper.

  • Field Theory: No draught in here,

I'm sure there are reasons to live in other cities, but not being able to buy Emersons from the brewery at decent prices (it's painful to pay $10 for a glass at most pubs) and take it home by the boxload would just be too much I think.

Lucy, as a student not based in Dunedin, you pay a drastically reduced membership fee, mostly the component which pays for membership of the two national bodies. If for some reason you're paying the full levy you should write to the fees office and ask them to charge you the same as other out of town students are charged.

While the gym is 40% owned by OUSA, the majority of its running costs are covered by the University's welfare and recreation levy.

The student health system is completely owned and financed by the university (again through your levy) and isn't anything to do with OUSA.

So I cracked my load of glasses over his head.

Hopefully that fired some "not be an arsehole" synapses Jackie. Good on ya.
