If there was compelling evidence that he punched his boy in the face can you explain why a jury would take nine hours to reach a verdict?
I've never been on a jury, but if I did, I think I'd find the evidence from several witnesses that the accused said "yeah, I punched him in the face, that woman can bugger off", or similar, fairly compelling.

Same (bloated) format.
Meh. That's the bit I could have quite happily had reduced. 6 games was fine, 9 is silly.

I haven't seen any mention of the tri-nations in the bits of media I've read. What happens to that?

Provided any church or religious organisation can access the tax benefit it's fair. As long as it's the same rule for Christianity, or Wicca, or Scientology, or the Church of Satan, or whatever it's just.
I'm going to found the "Church that really believes that everyone should have access to tax exemptions". Belief in a higher being optional.

I think I have a solution: let's allow religions to entertain whatever discrimination is part of their core beliefes, fine. Let's also end today their tax exemptions, across the board.
I suspect Giovanni, it would be fairer if 1. they're allowed to continue to discriminate, but 2. They get charged a discrimination tax.
"No gay weddings in your church? Sweet, you can front half the costs [after all, it's not one man/woman in the marriage that's wrong, it's the second one] for them to get married elsewhere."

New Zealand's 40 new franchises are listed here.
I think you'll find the bras on the fence franchise - that's the NRL, not rugby.

Grrrr - don't get me started ESPECIALLY when it comes to children's liquid paracetamol (aka "pamol"
Most doctors that I've seen with my kids are good about asking you "and do you need some pamol? Just in case? How about I give you a script that you can have in case you need it?". You just about have to stop them pushing the print button to not walk out the door with one.
If your current doctor isn't helping out with those little things, maybe switch.

So long as churches are empowered to perform a legal function - joining people in matrimony - you could argue that they should not be allowed to discriminate, and that if the state promulgates marriage equality then they'll need to start joining gay couples or else lose their licence, as it were.
I think I'd be happy with allowing sectors of society to refuse to marry certain people, as long as they do it politely, and as long as there are public celebrants who have to reasonably accept 'all-comers'.
But then I guess I'd be entirely unhappy if a restaurant refused to do a wedding reception on the basis that the couple were same-sex, so I suspect I need to think that through more.

Paistley, I think I had this same argument with Graeme last year, and I might have to admit that he's correct, though not very loudly and not when lots of other people are around.
Possibly something to do with him having a superior legal mind to me, not surprising given that he's a lawyer and I am not.
I ended up at the point of "if something is illegal then a justice system that knows all and makes the 'perfect' legal decision will convict you of it." Clearly that wasn't the case with some smacking before the changes to the law, so that smacking can't have been illegal.

(With subsequent movements of players to Europe where they can sign a 2 or 3 year contract, earning three times as much money)
