Kyle: That'd be 22 then - you're allowed a bench of 7.
Ah yes, my bad.
I believe the current number is 24. This is far too high - drop it to ten, make the draft a big occasion
I suspect you'd run into problems with both players and the players union. Players wouldn't want to have their lives be so unpredictable - many have homes and families and having to shift around the country every season based on which team happens to want them would be very disruptive.
The NHL draft system (which is the only one I know) is an entry draft, not a reassigning of players that already play in the league (that's an expansion draft). The players need to agree to sign a contract with the team that drafts them. I suspect you'd have a lot of players refuse to move from where they live just for a six month contract.

How many can you protect at the moment? 24?
21 or 15 would seem much more logical numbers. I'd argue for 21 in the modern game, the bench player is as much a part of the team as the guys that start.

That is a damn good rejoinder, sir.
Someone draws their rectangles lying down.

In this case, he punched someone right in front of the central police station. It's not a solid move tactically. The main witness was a just-off-duty police officer.
From go to woe he hasn't done very well has he? I think he should have argued that he was affected by all the testosterone ebbing out of the police station. Couldn't have done worse than his other attempts.

[remember their shock when NZ made it to the quarter-finals?!]
Semi finals wasn't it?

can anyone tell me why I can't legally marry my father-in-law?
These sorts of laws are, in a way, becoming increasingly outdated as non-marriage becomes more and more accepted as a form of relationship.
Previously marriage was the barrier to control who you could and couldn't be in a relationship with, have children with etc.
Now that marriage limits those things less, the laws start to make less sense (or need to be updated).

I'm putting my money on five years at the outside, providing the yapping never goes away and the issue hangs around rather than vanishing into the background.
I suspect the determining factor will be how the next Labour government still feels bitten by 'progressive social issues' such as Civil Unions, legalising prostitution, and section 59 reform. Some in the caucus might be tempted to avoid such issues at least for the first term.

Stick with the conspiracy -- because I really don't know what would satisfy some people at this point, apart from Rodney Hide and John Banks getting run over by the same bus.
Stop it Craig. You're getting me excited.

beat you grigg,
too slow,
pg 101 is the actual 100th page since there is no page zero.
nice doing battle with you.I think Jake Pollock needs to revisit this thread in his blog.
101 pages of people arguing with someone who can't count. I think the internet just died.
D'oh moment: I just checked, and 'Muskrat Love' is actually on my iPod! Heh.
My Dad loves Captain and Tennille. Just saying.

You know the one sport you can go to the pub and be guaranteed that the people watching won't be munters and you can walk up to a complete stranger and have a decent conversation about what you're watching?
Test cricket.Sounds like a quick path to alcoholism. 5 days in a pub!
