In the meantime, and especially if the leisure foot-and-bike traffic is a larger constituency than the commuter foot-and-bike traffic, could we at least have something like this?

That's cool. Every city should have something like that - part foot/cycle transit, part street party/market.

No wait I saw this in a Bowie movie.

The girl grabs one of the nose rings and stuffs it the guard's nose...

    No, it's gone again. Nevermind.

  • Hard News: Stop the Enabling,

On watching the interview I am of the opinion that Mason is a good honest man and a good father. He is certainly not a perfect father. I was certainly not impressed with language he used towards his children. It is not the language I have ever used to my children or would ever consider using towards my grandchildren if they in my care and misbehaving.

Yes. It was the language that he used that was the problem. Everything else was good fathering.

Watching players run across the field trailing clouds of steam behind them like Thomas the Tank Engine was quite bizarre.

Not surprising the fog came as there was clearly no wind. The steam stuck around in the air for a minute after a scrum.

I felt like someone needed to track the steam throughout the game and build up an animation showing it across time and place and then reverse engineer that to commentary:

"Ooh a mighty buildup of steam in the middle of the field, that must be a scrum. Now over to the sideline, that's a lineout. And then think streaks of steam through the middle - Nonu on the break! Then a ruck, and now the steam is back down the other way, it's been kicked downfield by the chiefs!"

You could relate it back to the game and see who was best at the exercise. Or maybe get a life, either way.

The other two assault counts related to Mason picking up both boys (including the two year-old, who he had previously told reporters was "drifting in and out of consciousness" after crashing his bike) while on their bikes and slamming them down. I imagine there would have been a lively debate as to whether that was assault.

Possibly not assault, but if he's correct that the younger one was drifting in and out of consciousness... Possible concussion + violent movement + sudden stop = stupid fuck.

For those wondering what kind of fowl Chuck is

Oooh. And here's me thinking he was just some dick. He's _that_ dick.

Even if his computer got "hacked", which I doubt, nobody in the NZ police would be able to track anything down. They do motoring offences, shoplifting and brawls, not IT security.

The police have a... I forget the unit name... electronic crimes unit or something. Mostly civilians, IT graduates. They would have done the investigation into the technical details.

  • Up Front: Are We There Yet?,

I could have sworn that already existed

But I don't want arseholes in my church.

We had a Singaporean writer at Bardic Web for a few years, she was a really lovely woman. She had to give it up because her family and her boyfriend found out she was using the internet recreationally and made her stop.

Wait, there are other reasons for using the internet?
