Men are rarely used in studies on the treatment of breast cancer yet men suffer from breast cancer
What? This is hardly fair. Do women get testicular cancer? Who wrote this book anyway? Dammit!

If Don Brash (or John Key) had been elected in '06, that could well have been us.
I think if they'd been elected in '06, someone would have told them we didn't have an election that year, and they would have been very sad :)

For those interested, there's live commentary of the Women's World Cup final on Radio Sport today, which I guess is the up side of the men's team sucking so proficiently.
I only caught a bit of it, but good on radio sport for giving them some decent coverage. Shame TV couldn't have followed suit.

The only way around that is to start subsidising the broadcast itself -- at which point you maybe start thinking it would be better to have a public broadcaster.
I wonder if competition is still important. It'd be nice to see TV3 competing with TVNZ to show NZ programmes. A sort of reverse bidding, where the TV companies bid for the lowest subsidy, mixed with the time slot and audience that their channel would bring it to (viewers).
Otherwise, as Simon points out above, you might miss out on bringing TV shows to the TV3 type audience.

He shouldn't have been given out, though, it has to be said.
Yes, but the best way to not get given out is to make it very obvious to the umpire that you can't be out.
If you wave your bat at the ball and it flies towards the slips, you're creating an option for yourself to be back in the pavilion much sooner.

And never more than the time Nokia flew me to Singapore for the launch of a new phone (no, really) and put me up in the Ritz Carlton, along with journalists from all over the Asia-Pacific region.
There's an irony when a mobile phone company flies a bunch of journalists around the world to see their phone being launched, rather than saving a bunch of money and sending them a free phone and phoning them on it.

Oh FFS! 3rd ball?

cos there's no page zero.
Yes. See '2000 not really the first year of the new millenium' for example.

I'm happy with the fact that Tendulkar is a great batsman, and is likely to score a bunch of runs against us.
I'd be nice if we could get their #9 out for something closer to his test average of 12 though.
This is looking like McGrath and Gillespie scoring half centuries at Brisbane all over again :(

its too late simon.
Bloody mark got the 1200 /pg 60 post.60 x 20 is 1200.
The 1200th post is the last one on the 60th page, not the first one (which would be #1181).
