I can make my kitchen like a disco floor.
If you're not putting the bulbs under glass in the floor, you're not doing it properly. Also, Lyndon, you can't use a pot as a disco ball, that's cheating.

Rich, I'm no satellite expert but aren't you confusing coming up with an idea - which I had always understood was original and well enough developed in this case (unless you have evidence otherwise) - and turning it into reality.
To me invent means 'actually made it work'.
Lots of people thought about people flying. Da Vinci did some drawings of some early handglider and helicopter contraptions.
The people who invented flight however were the first people to build and test fly balloons, planes, helicopters, gliders etc.

You know, call me crazy, but I don't think that's going to work out so well for either group.
I'm a member of the second group, so I think I win over the first. But I try not to mock, and I like my bon-bons as god intended.

If they're eating too much then I stand by that point.
Let me introduce you to the cucumber. 13 calories per cup.
If my diet consisted entirely of cucumbers, I would need to eat over 100 cups of cucumber in order to get my calorie count close to normal. If I was doing quite a bit of exercise, I'd need to eat in excess of 200 cups of cucumber. Per day.
So to go back to the basics, it's not how much you eat, its what you eat.

It's something Lumsden and his team have to work on every day, even if, technically, they won't see the true fruits of their labour until a good decade afterwards.
Must be difficult to employ a distiller.
Q: So, you've been working at Joe Bloggs Distillery for eight years now. How's that going?
A: Dunno yet.

That's no surprise, but good on her.
I'm more interested to see where Cullen ends up. To me that's more of an interesting unknown.

It's still going to be that we should "eat a balanced diet in appropriate quantities, and exercise".
Which I'll again point out wasn't at all what you said in the first place, which was along the lines of "recession would be good because people might eat less and that would be good for them (because they'd be less fat).
In actual fact, "eat a balanced diet in appropriate quantities, and exercise" sounds remarkably like what I said in response to your claim.
I don't mind you changing what you're saying, just claiming the points for the win is all.

I should add that we have a houseful of CFL bulbs. Every time an old one went, my darling would replace it with a more efficient one.
I should add that environmentally (for everyone) and financially (for you) it makes sense to replace them all now before they die. Despite the waste, we should all throw our old lightbulbs away today, because it'll save us money.

Earth to Earth Hour: Our politicians, despite their best efforts, do not live in space.
Hehe! Great blog Keith. Double points for:
And it was balls.
The argument is drawn from classic liberalism's core claim to freedom: That we have the inalienable right to any activity as long as it does not impinge on the rights of other citizens.
Except that nobody really believes that.
I get so sick of saying this to otherwise interventionist liberals. "They're idiots, don't believe what they're saying, you don't actually believe that!"

Chipped over the line
