does trump worked for Bill Ayers
Feel free to make shit up in passing.
Obama didn't work for Bill Ayers, they served on the Woods Fund board together. What's wrong with being on the board with a Professor of Education at the University of Illinois is another question all-together.

you mean apart from the bomb bomb bomb Iran stuff
I was more concerned that he forgot Iraq existed when he discussed the Iraq/Pakistan border.
I can be vaguely forgiving of forgetting the name of some African country that America doesn't have much to do with. But given that he attacked Obama for his statements about talking to Iran, it'd be nice if he knew where it was.

When I think of the crap we had to endure along those lines versus what we know now, it does make a bit angry, yes. Frankly, I think many people in the system simply don't understand autism spectrum disorders.
Not to comment on either your situation Russell, or what happened to Finn.
But mental health is, and has been chronically underfunded in New Zealand for so long. Sometimes they get it wrong and should be held to account. But we devote SFA money to the system and as a result it lacks staff numbers, funds, resources, expertise, training, and often, people get into it with such enthusiasm and get burnt out within five years.
I have a relative who spent about 10 years working in child and youth mental health here in NZ, and an additional five years working in the Western Australian system. The difference in resources available is very significant. She's recently left the public system after being ground down to the bone and is now working in private practice and picking her clients.
There will always be stories where the only response is to be angry. People deserve the best help available, and they don't always get that. What's much worse for me, is that every expert review we have of this sector tells us that we need to make so much more available, and as a society we fail every time when faced with that challenge.

Could somebody explain to me very slowly how seeking evidence against somebody under the Terrorism Suppression Act does not tar that person with the suspicion of being a terrorist?
And seeking evidence under the misuse of drugs act tars them as a drug user, and a police car pulling someone over to tell them that their tail light is out tars them as a speeder. Welcome to reality.
Police warrants require the police to state on what basis (ie law) the warrant is being sought. If the police thought that the people were conducting activites that could be considered to be domestic terrorism, it's not a far stretch to put that law down on the warrant.

See, I don't agree with that for so many reasons. There are plenty of right minded teens around, but not enough in my view to warrant lowering the voting age.
I suspect the most sensible, fact-based, polite debate to be held in parliament over the past few decades is when the Youth Parliament sits for a day. I'd happily take them writing our laws over the circus we have at present.
I don't buy any argument that a bunch of people of a certain type are not right-minded. It's not a qualification we apply over 18, so I don't see why we should apply it under 18. You could as easily say a reasonable number of voters over 80 suffer from dementia and alzeimer's, yet we don't have a maximum age for voting.

Somewhat related.
In Dunedin we have a cycleway which is quite quickly working its way to Maia, which is about halfway to Port Chalmers. I'm not sure how they're going to get it the other half (probably a cycle lane on the road), but the bit they've done so far is great.
Wide cycleway, no where near the road, about five metres at most from the harbour. When it's finished I can see a pile of people riding out to Port for lunch and a look around the interesting shops that are there.
After watching 'A Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash' tonight (quick summary: we're all fucked), and seeing how the cycleway is going, next month I'm going to go out and buy a bike, which I've been planning to do for a couple of years.
If anyone has a tip of what to look for and where to go for a reasonably priced bike for a very tall person to commute once or twice a week, and go riding with the kids...

Why anyone would want to make their kids and their private lives part of a political narrative, I have no idea.
Politicians with 40 years experience get burned by getting involved with the media. Your 1, 5, 10 year old kid? You get photos of them with their parents and then get to back away media people. None of the rest of the world's business.

One suspects that the Dom Post knew the risk that they were running publishing the material, and decided to do it anyway. Either because they thought they'd have a reasonable chance of getting off, or a minor punishment, or they thought a sizeable fine was still worth the publicity, or because they thought that publishing was too important a principle to not do in this instance.
I'm increasing dubious about the value in suppressing information and preventing the media reporting on it. The media had already reported a great deal on this case, whatever is and isn't suppressed, we're still only getting half the story. I'm dubious that more of the story, from one side or both, is suddenly going to affect justice greatly.
Apart from anything else, I think if the information is publicly available then defence and prosecution lawyers can deal with it. They can stand up in court and say "this an accusation made in the media and does not form part of this case for these reasons". Currently people know stuff anyway and are just expected to suddenly forget they have that knowledge - a la Louise Nicholas trial where thousands of people across the country and at least one member of the jury knew that two of them were already in jail for the same crime.

Rules of the game. What you don't want to be doing, and this really only applies if you're watching with friends, is yell out something like "Offside Ref!" Only to have your friend say "Nah the ball hadn't been inside the 30m line for the last five seconds so that means all of the players in odd numbered jerseys are onside."
It helps if you're qualified to referee yourself. Though that's a big commitment to make just to watch the sport with more authority. And it isn't a requirement for the 99.9% of sports fans who yell abuse at me when they think I've made a call wrong.
On the food front, can I recommend a plate of corn chips. Dribble herb salad dressing all over them. Cover in grated cheese. Microwave. Seriously good (but not good for you).

Doughnuts and lammingtons may not be a safe bet any more. Focus on core products such as custard and caramel slices.
I suspect that given the current stories around Fonterra, you might want to stick away from milk products such as custard.
There could be flow-on effects across their whole market after all.
