Ah but there's the big problem, a real dilemma: a yellow mini showing up in the 1800 would just wrong - but equally it would be really really symbolic - you can see how a director would be torn - I think you take the wheels off and have it carried by a bunch of orcs instead
Now you're talking Paul. Mount big spikes all around it, skulls of past victims stuck in place of the headrests in the front seats (umm, imagine it's a mini with headrests).
And maybe the good guys could have a matching Kombi van.

I've heard two reasons today for the removal of the requirement to have bio-fuels:
1. It's (possibly) not produced sustainably.
2. It uses carbon to get it here.Which are true, but both those things also apply to oil. My understanding of the main reason for introducing biofuels was that it can be renewable, oil is only renewable over a couple of million years.
I could understand National scrapping it if it was 'too expensive', or 'too hard to source', or 'denying people the choice', though I'd disagree with their reasoning.
But their reasoning seems to be 'Oh my god, actually as bad as oil in a couple of ways! (but not others)'.

National's Nicky Wagner spammed me with this just now:
The committee has been set up to have a fresh look at the Emissions Trading Scheme in response to concerns about New Zealand’s poor record on emissions, the changed economic environment and rushed way the legislation was passed.
That last seven words has the subtle aroma of irony about it. Or, not so subtle, didn't quite see the irony about it.

BTW, if you want to see the rest of the bills National has been tryign to keep secret, the Greens have put them up here.
Good on the Greens for pushing a little bit of openness in government.

And sweet fuck all effort being made to convince me that it was.
Given that it's been cancelled by the person at the head of the food chain, I suspect there would be little point in anyone now arguing for it in public, or elsewhere.

Or, if it does make sense, it's very dishonest.

And that's before tax which as Cullen said yesterday, not even a block of cheese, perhaps a slice :)
Wait, your return from your tax cut, is taxed? That wouldn't make sense.
Unless you mean GST.

I think people assumed that there were laws in place that protected them from simply having their money stolen from them by their financial agents.
I'd support that law being passed. Under urgency, or otherwise.
-
Don't bother trying to work out what it all means, just wait for the next clarification - now issued daily.
One suspects it'll mean something different to everyone who stands up in front of the committee.
It's a waste of time, I just hope it's not a waste of time that ends up doing serious damage.

I believe its traditional to set fire to things as well. Maybe a protest BBQ?
Marshmallows! Parliamentary Order Papers! Ministerial Limos! Burn!
