Virginia Super Slims Light cigarettes
I wonder how many words you have to put before the word 'cigarette' to make people forget that it's actually still never going to be good for you?

"According to statistics, in 1998 there were 318,000 women in the UK who said they were engaged to be married and 218,000 men who said they were engaged to be married" (anon)
Now see, that's just polygamy hopefuls waiting for a law change.

The sound you just heard? That was me dropping my gloves.
Man. Those are really nasty gloves dude. No palm at all.

Okay: Anaheim fan, disrespecting my oral hygiene... I now officially hate you.
Said like a man whose team is running 24th out of 30.
Russell can correct me, but isn't the usual process on student radio stations, who can't afford a news gathering team or even Reuters/NZPA, to source stories from other media and put them in the journalists own words.
Many years ago it was heard on Radio One something along the lines of "We would read you the news now, but someone stole our ODT, so we don't have any sorry." They do more of their own now.

Good post about the Noelle business on Peter Hoar's new blog
Worth reading through to the end for the fish story (properly attributed I note).

So, the guy who's going through a multi-session root canal should take what?
Greater care of his teeth?

But that attitude would be a whole hell of a lot more palatable to the Chinese if it wasn't being espoused by residents of developed nations that have spend many decades polluting far in excess of what's sustainable.
I agree that it's not necessarily fair.
I just don't think the world can necessarily afford for newly developing countries to repeat our mistakes in this matter.
There are also some leadership opportunities for China in jumping over 'old' technology, which the rest of the world is slowly moving onto after going through the path that China is now following along on.

Who is responsible for the emissions? The Kyoto protocol types (european) say it should be the Chinese, the Chinese say it shouldn't. I am in agreement with the Chinese.
It wouldn't be unreasonable to expect the Chinese to take a little responsibility for the effect of their actions on the world, and not just in emissions either.

Coming into Auckland is the only time I've had trouble at an airport, and even then no-one was particularly unpleasant; we just wasted an hour having our luggage pored through by a fairly apologetic customs agent.
I had the same thing coming back into Auckland in 1995. As much as its unpleasant to have a customs guy poke through everything in your bag, a dog identified my bag (I presume it was a drug dog, not sure what it thought it had, the bag had never had drugs near it as far as I know) so I couldn't really complain of incompetence beyond the dog.

I suspect it'd probably be a coach that'd be as concerned as the PR guy that is causing the issues at the moment.
Some of that honesty would no doubt be useful to current and future Black Caps opposition. That's what makes it interesting.
