Isn't this just a means of increasing PAS's profile in internet searches? A plethora of googlable terms and turgid innuendo almost guaranteed to turn up as a 'hit'.

Craig, good to see you back and apparently undiminished in the 'piss&vinegar' stakes. Your barbed counterpoint to the prevailing leftism has been missed (and i am sure not just by me).

Oh, I clicked on that link and now I feel tainted .

It's all right, Emma, you and David are both correct.
'S all relative. (Or is that incest - a.k.a. 'rolling your own')

It is the 144-pack abs that are really gross.

Twas lost on me, having never read "the real Michael Laws" (if, indeed there is such a thing).
But I think I get the gist (and the mockery).

John Key wants to be a mirror when he grows up - reflect back to people what is important to them but offer nothing of any substance. And he's about as shallow.

OK, I appear to have sailed into choppy waters. My discretion says "Back off", so I'm outta here.

Superb piece, sir!
You have put into words much of what I have been thinking, in my muddled & often incoherent fashion, since the slippery little bugger appeared on the hustings.
I salute you.

Given the recent global financial meltdown 'economics' is about as scientific as consulting chicken entrails.
That said, I'm sure there is a semi-solid mathematical underpinning to economic theory but it is not helped by the unrealistic assumptions about people being 'rational actors' and the sustainability of constant growth in economic terms.
And sadly the whole financial market attracts the sort of people that the rest of us should perhaps be a little leery of - the greedy, selfish bastards.
(Not saying everyone involved has those characteristics, but people with them are attracted to the markets.)
