I can understand the need for a pithy epithet characterising the type of (non) voter they are on about
I like "proletard".

Since 2nd WW there’s been I think 22 elections, Nats have come out as the biggest party in 14
Up until 1987 the National party favoured a huge state sector, import controls, subsidies, a fixed exchange rate, industrial intervention, etc. It was basically "socialism run by Tories".

In what way was their fifth Labour government not social democratic?
The way a minority was able to make huge untaxed capital gains on the back of a credit fueled housing boom? Maybe that's the elusive definition of social democracy - from each according to his ability, to each according to his leverage

We're the only country of any size where rugby union is the largest spectator sport. (AU, it's third after league and Aussie Rules. Everywhere else, including SA, it's soccer). I know little about this, but that's the reason. See also netball.

Just like the Black Caps really.
Oh don't say that! It's a Great NZ Delusion that one day, with a bit of coaching, we'll produce a world class cricket team. While in fact we don't have enough people and don't play enough cricket to get anywhere near India, Australia and even England.

That John McAfee seems to be a dodgy character (not to mention mad as a bag of kittens). Does anyone think the early antivirus industry might have involved AV companies funding the virus writers?

Aren't all the people you mention National supporters?

never be voting for Labour ever again
Well, why would one? Given that the Greens don't do any of this crap. If one's a righty, and wants to dig up Northland / run slave labour fishing trawlers / watch pr0n videos on the taxpayers dollar, there is always the National Party, or the MaoriNats.

It does strike me that before the last election many in Labour were strong on the importance of loyalty to Phil Goff, blah, blah. Right up until the day after the election, when he resigned.
Is this a groundhog day pattern?

What, and only get half the salary each? And have to flat with each other in Premier House?
