  • Voting Local 2010,

What about some suggestions for candidates
    worth voting for ?

    That's just crazy talk.

    From a typical councillors manifesto:
    _
_an in-patient bed in a psych ward costs $170k a year. A councillor earns a mere $70k. Vote for me and save a hundred grand!__

Adam, could we guess at what you're not reporting now?

What Rodney Hide "did in his youth and now regrets"? National's plan to appoint Banks as a commissioner if he loses the super-mayor election? The real reason for the CERRA law?

    One can but speculate....

Originally, the finance companies were expected to move to bank levels of reserves. This has never happened. If they'd been given a month or so to do this and then been wound up, we'd have lost less money than by allowing them to keep lending.

Also, I feel a system that relies on the suppression of knowledge to function isn't an especially good one.

  • Voting Local 2010,

When I voted in my first Auckland council election I was a permanent resident living in a rented property. I therefore concluded that Citizens and Ratepayers was not for me as I wasn't either of those.

I wonder how many NZ financial journalists had their spare cash stuffed under the bed during the last financial crisis.

Also, given that the media considers itself part of the financial system and wont deliver us inconvenient information, what are the possibilities of crowdsourcing cash issuance levels from banknote serial numbers?

Are there other instances of putting itinerant consonants or vowels in acronyms to make them easier to say?

We did that at the Centre for New Technology, but people didn't like it for some reason.

Rich, which link was broken for you?

It's was an Opera Mini / Facebook Mobile artefact. I'm now pleased to report that I have zero friends in common with Ms Thrake. I knwo a few hippies, but clearly not that kind.

Also, one of the people on the site claims to be CEO of South Park. I was fairly sure that was Stan?

I think TNAF are pretty good in a sort of MGMT style.

But I guess Sweetman's entitled to a different opinion? Can't we have critics calling it as they see it, rather than repeating the received opinion? Or is it unpatriotic to criticise Keeeeweee bands under any circumstances?
