The plane crashed after it got tangled up with the UKIP banner, and Farage walked out of the wreckage.
Paul Holmes over their doing a bit of political coaching, and offered to take the controls?

list MPs are despised
That's crap. The mainstream media *tells* us they're not elected properly as part of the whole background campaign against fair votes. In fact, to be a list MP, you need roughly 18,000 votes. Electorate MPs can get as few as 12,000 (Peter Dunne).
Of the nine or ten MPs I admire, all but one are on the list.

Kind of shit for the people who'd have their businesses and workplaces destroyed. Totally shit for the corpses
Well, yeah. But also, it wasn't all that good for the 460 British troops killed in Iraq & Afghanistan under Blair/Bush. Or the over 100,000 Iraqis and Afghans *they* killed (pro-rata).
The British people didn't want a war. (Just like the Iraqis and Afghans). But they got one, largely because they have an electoral system that lets governments discount and ignore public opinion.

In some ways its better to have the uk system where one can choose a paper to suit ones politics than the nz option where all papers (and the tv) are Tory but tone it down a bit.
The uk voting system is institutionalised fraud, of course and any party that comes out of this election in majority government can fairly be said to have stolen it. The only way this might end is if the Brits finally lose it Greek style.

spend the money getting some local hackers to produce an open source replacement
Me! Me! Me!
I've (with others) wanted to do an open source Ableton for a while, but the core engine requirement for that and Protools is similar. The problem (and why Audacity 1.3 has been stuck in beta for five years) is that it's a big job and there isn't the sponsorship around.

Please can NACT draft Inwood as a candidate next time. Also Whalespunk. And the bloke from the apprentice who doesn't pay his bills.

The tories would rather take a turn at power than share. As would labour. Not to mention that having two right wing parties take turns ensures the real left is locked out.

Hard to see how 200 50k grants are justified in a world of home studios and downloadable music. Maybe nz on air should be more about promoting artists online and subsidising gigs. (Taxpayer funds drug fueled rave shock horror )

My local dairys just started selling deep fried blubber. Delicious and nutricious, as they say.
