So if there is huge fear/panic/outcry about Key suggesting thousands of homes will be abandoned then they won't, but if he gets away with the waffle then they'll go ahead and do it and claim they announced it earlier.
Logic suggests that massive reaction to Key's comments now might be worthwhile.
Missed your chance - remember they already wheeled out that statement in Feb. Note the flow of news stories in the last 24 hours about how people have changed their minds about staying in their Eastern suburbs homes.

I am in the process of preparing an overview report on archival music collections and their current activities in NZ which I would be more than happy to send you a copy when completed.
Can I respectfully suggest that communicating with Simon *before* your report is done might help shape it to be a closer fit with his proposed initiative and vice versa - even if that's just some similarities in thinking about categories, gaps and opportunities.

If NZ was only going to collect stuff strictly relevant to their communities, we would all be poorer for it.
Seems commonsense to start with what is from and of this place though, if budgets are limited. I guess if there's any unique NZ spin on Gregorian chanting I could visit the Hutt to find out.

Talked informally with developers years ago. No improvement since - easily verified by running any automated checker on their site. Personally over doing free work for multi-million-dollar projects.

I've lost track of how many times this factor has been overlooked by the designers of public archives, especially digital ones.
Broader than that area, sadly. Often all the effort goes into some software or associated organisational functions without enough attention to the way real humans will interact with them. And then there's surprise when it fails to work as intended.
