I think the different groups (actors, editors, DoPs etc) pick the nominees list for their area, but then the whole academy votes on the winner for each category.
Thanks Steve - correct

Robbie, you're just not listening. If you behave like a sexist neanderthal git - she asked for it by wearing a short skirt, your honour - then don't act all surprised when you attract a corrective response here, the same as most places these days. It's no different than if I were to start flinging old-fashioned stereotypes about polynesian men like Muriel Newman has been.
Are you really that unaware - what does your partner think of your attitudes about women?

The Academy recognised the visuals with several awards
I thought different groups of academy members vote for different categories of award - so you get technical expertise where it counts (ie: recognition by peers) except for the best film awards that everyone has a say on. Do I have that wrong?

I totally appreciate B's efforts on the 'calling bullshit' side of things

probably a dozen or more 'PAS fellas' watching this unfold
Ahem, some of us have intervened as best we can while not wanting to set off further futile yelling or to usurp our host or fellow guests.
I'm impressed we are all responding quite calmly and not taking the bait. Feels a bit sad this time.

Sent note to Russell already, but 'Still Crazy' is getting crazier by the minute
Same. Some people just don't seem to learn. Sad.

Major Facilities CCO will replace specialist Boards for diverse major institutions, require nimble decisions.
The agency designing the Super City is working on winding up 16 major arts and other regional facilities to create a single major regional facilities council-controlled organisation for the Super City.
The new CCO, with a board of about eight directors, will be responsible for most of Auckland's iconic facilities, such as Auckland Museum, Auckland Zoo and Motat, cultural facilities like The Edge and Bruce Mason Centre, and major stadiums, including Mt Smart and North Harbour.
The directors will need to make calls on risky musicals, decide on a new herd of elephants at Auckland Zoo, deal with the Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium and manage controversial museum director Vanda Vitali.
